Maybe he will be back, but in the meanwhile, I wanted to ask about the same thing. My computer can see the stand alone dvr thru my router using the software provided using the 192.168.1.200 port 80. And I installed the software at work. But it cant find it there using the same address. So I bet theres a real simple reason why not. Maybe my Charter cable provider want let me look at port 80?

Why is it when your not logged in you have to scroll the screen at the bottom even at 1024 res?

I bought a sensor at Lowes yesterday that you buy to add motion to flood lights. So far it is working with it temporarly sitting on top of the dvr. I have the sensor set on TEST so it triggers as long as you are in front of it and times out after about 3 seconds which is working just the way I want it. Only drawback is it needs AC run to it. Which brings up the question why not just pay more money and buy a battery operated sensor. Anyway I believe this will work better than all the false MOTION recordings Im getting. I mean why record leaves and rain and this one I hate, spider webs.
-
Are these wired sensors typically whats used to have a motion sensor run to your dvr? http://homesecuritystore.com/ezStore123/DTProductList.asp?p=2_1_1_1_0_0_193 I picked this site just for ideas. You really dont see many cctv sites selling them. I just want to have that extra insurance that one spot is recorded whether the camera triggers it or not.

Well that may be true about the dirty lens. But I just know for a fact that the white sunshield made a halo and when I removed it, no halo. Which I thought maybe if they had black under the sunshield of the wizkid maybe it would help. From what I saw of the pic, that is the way mine looked till I removed the white vinyl.
-
Well after installing 2 more N600H1's I found out something about the halo issue. The N600H1's come in a black housing and these wizkids are white. So trying to make my 600's blend in to my white vinyl trim on the house I used some white vinyl used to make signs and I covered the camera with this. Looks great. However....when I used the white on the underside of the sun shield, then the halo appeared. This could be the problem with these wizkids.

I wonder if there is anyway a person could use the ir trigger inside a ir flood light to trigger a dvr. Im thinking the way these lights work is a relay to turn on the ac to the bulbs. What Im getting at is why not trigger the dvr when the lights come on that way its much better than using the motion feature in the dvr in pitch black dark. I may have to experiment with this.

Is it possible to connect my computer directly to my standalone dvr with a cat5 crossover and see it in windows? Or is this not necessary? Im not sure if you have to see it in windows networking before you can access it thru my dvr software. Dennis

I dont freeking believe it Rory. I entered your IP address into my dvr and then entered the ip you showed above into a dos window and it did like you said. So I opened up Firefox and typed that address into it and its showing my dvr model and software version and link to http://www.unimo.co.kr/ So I am assuming I finally have a connection. Yehaaaaaaaaw! I think it was your 192 ip address that did it. I believe the 192 is for LAN use according to the Networking 101 Thomas posted. Okay, this is thru the router, lets see what else I can do now.

Well guys I went and bought a Linksys WRT54G wireless router. Dont need wireless, but it has 30 bucks of rebates so its cheaper than a non-wireless. So I proceeded to hook it up. I knew how, but for some freeking reason I hooked the cables up bassackards. And can you believe it took me 4 hours to find it. Unbelievable. Well it was 11 pm lastnight when I found that so maybe this evening I can make some progress. Well ya know, I would have needed the router or a switch anyway, so what was I thinking.
-
I give up, think Im going to go buy a router.

I best show you what I have so this want take so long. In my computer in networking properties I have these components installed. Client for Microsoft Networks Network Everywhere Fast Ethernet adapter IPX/SPX compatable protocol NetBEUI TCP/IP And in the DVR it has these settings. IP 1.1.1.1 Subnet mask 255.0.0.0 gateway 0.0.0.0 port 80 And it also has DDNS settings, but they are for more than 1 dvr I think. Now do I go into my computer and open TCP/IP and set the IP to manual and enter, IP address 1.1.1.2 subnet 255.0.0.0 gateway 0.0.0.0 WNS and DNS are disabled. Whew. I know someone will see an error in this.

Neat idea, but how hard would it be to destroy it. After all, it is on the ground. Does it have lens wipers? lol.

WHAT'S THE BEST OUTDOOR IR BULLET CAMERA FOR UNDER $200.00
34Ford replied to kandcorp's topic in Security Cameras
Well for $188 I think its a great cam, It has a mechanical day night filter, auto iris, 3.8-9.5mm adjustable lens and infra red all in one. However I dont use the i/r as I have motion flood lights. In order to get great visability in total darkness with just i/r it takes a much better camera. And your talking money now. So far I am pleased with it and considering buying 3 more. I had considered another camera with the same features but without the i/r but they go for over $300 -
WHAT'S THE BEST OUTDOOR IR BULLET CAMERA FOR UNDER $200.00
34Ford replied to kandcorp's topic in Security Cameras
Well you said a couple hundred dollars so here you go. http://www.digitalsurveillancesolutions.com/security_cameras-KT&C--KPC-N600H1.htm -
I know how a day night camera switches from color to b/w which is good but wth is a color camera that says if automatically changes the gain control and white balance? I suppose it stays color but lightens up the best it can. And I bet this is a waste of money, right? Example, http://www.ktnc.co.kr/product_14_07.asp

Well I wouldn't hesitate to buy one, but what if I dont like it? Thats what scares me from buying and trying is usually that costs me lost shipping charges and possible restocking fees. Hazards of buying online. Its not like I can run back down to a local store and say, its not going to work.
-
I am thinking of that. I have been happy with the N660H1 d/n abilities for the price, its just a shame I have to cover the ir so it want keep triggering my dvr. From what I have seen it do when my flood lights come on its way better than not having any cameras at all. I was just hoping I could find the same camera without the ir. Which would reduce its overall diameter too. And for $200.
-
One will be watching the front porch, another looking up the driveway, and another to watch a door on the garage. I am pretty happy with the KPC-N600H1 but its a waste if I cover the ir and dont use it. I have motion flood lights to light up these areas. Im the type I would rather light the sucker up rather than try to be stealth with a camera that needs to see in complete darkness.
-
Oh, probably was. Well I have got to buy 3 more cameras and Im about brain dead from looking. I may just go with a b/w. Didn't I read they dont like bright daylight though? Auto iris b/w maybe?
-
The ktc I put in the 1st post.
-
I thought so. Thanks for reply.
-
Wow, Im glad you guys post the pics. After seeing this I think I will look at the N600H1 again. And here looks like a good price. http://www.digitalsurveillancesolutions.com/security_cameras-KT&C--KPC-N600H1.htm
-
Well I wished I could afford one, but maybe I should just settle for a high res b/w. After all, the image is the important part. I want to be able to identfy the person.

WizKid is Extreme CCTV, they manufacture the camera. Retail is much cheaper than that $450 tag. Well a friend pointed me to another site that has it for $300. Thats better, but Im not sure I want to buy from them.
