kind of an unwarranted statement. i mean, sure, you dont want to buy your cameras or anything at home depot , but they are great for wiring, connectors, conduit, crimpers, screws, drill bits, caulk, ladders, solder, various tools, etc etc that you would use to install your cctv system. I agree that slowforthecones statement is unwarranted. I dislike Home Depot as much as the next person but we don't know the OP's status of whether he's an installer or end-user. If all he needed is a some conduit and water-tight boxes than we all can agree that Home Depot is the place for that. Let us not forget that not many "suppliers" are open all night or after normal business hours like Home Depot. Plus, I'm not sure most here know that Home Depot has a commercial division called HD Supply that caters to the "pros". As for the "illegal" problem. This goes far beyond Home Depot and it is foolish blaming them. For all we know Home Depot is reporting the loitering of illegals every day but the call goes unanswered.

Help PRETTY PLEASE. Need cable for Dome Camera
Tailbone215 replied to dopalgangr's topic in Security Cameras
Yeah I kinda take it for granted that I have good soldering skills and assume it's an easy task for other people. You might want to start over and make a nice clean cut in the cable and tin the leads with solder prior to soldering them to the PCB. This makes it much easier. Also, keep in mind that you need to provide a decent strain relief as you don't want to rip circuity traces should this get pulled again. Good luck. -
Help PRETTY PLEASE. Need cable for Dome Camera
Tailbone215 replied to dopalgangr's topic in Security Cameras
If all you need is a BNC you can simply solder in one of those thin cheapy service port monitor pigtail cables. You should have dozens of them laying around. Very easy and done! -
If you are looking for the blue corrugated plastic conduit made by Panduit you can find that at any electrical supply house or maybe Home Depot. If you simply want protection that is rigid you can just use inexpensive gray PVC electrical conduit. Again, Home Depot has all of this and the various fittings needed for a professional install.

Our demo online for ip camera

Yes this has been going on for some time and it is SPAM and I wish the moderators would block this jackass already. I've tried reasoning with this spammer in hopes of getting him to be a contributing member of the group but that hasn't worked. And I surely won't be buying any cameras from him. I'm a new member as well and primarily lurk. I dislike spammers. -
Neighbor aiming camera directly into my backyard

Now that is funny! -
It sounds like you have a sticking ICR and/or faulty AI control. You might want to contact the vendor you bought these from as it seems Nuvico had a bad production run on this model. I had a pair of bad ones myself and another person on this forum had focusing/sharpness issues. Hopefully you didn't make the same mistake I did and buy them from an unauthorized dealer as Nuvico won't talk to you. I did get the vendor to take them back but the hassle dealing with that and the lost time and productivity dicking with defective cameras was a real PITA. I did pick up another CB-SD21N-L from a different batch and it really is a performer that is razor sharp and actually gives a great image in IR mode. That said, send them back if you can't get support from the vendor or Nuvico. Good luck.

I need weather proof cameras, please advise
Tailbone215 replied to JetPack343's topic in Security Cameras
Another option would be to coat all openings and seals with silicone grease as this will do a nice job of sealing off any channels for moisture. Looking at the pic, I would bet that the weak point is where the glass meets case. Take it all apart and grease er' up. -

Sir, I have been reading your posts and I am now 100% convinced that your sole purpose here is to SPAM your products. I really hoped that you would contribute something useful but it doesn't look that way. As an avid reader of this forum I would hope that the moderators consider blocking your posts if you continue spamming. And no, I will never buy products from persistent spammers so your efforts are fruitless. -
Optimal settings for Nuvico CB-SD21N-L and other questions?
Tailbone215 posted a topic in Security Cameras
This is my first post to CCTV forum even though I have been reading a lot and studying the valuable info posted here. I recently setup a system using the Nuvico CB-SD-21N-L cameras and Hikvision DS-4016HSI DVR card. The images from the cams don't seem to be as sharp and contrast as one would expect. I'm using factory defaults on these cams, other than focus and zoom. The cheap 380-line test camera I'm using seems to have more punch and contrast to the colors. I'm sure the Nuvico cams would outperform the test camera I'm using if I set them up properly. The IR performance hasn't impressed me either. What I'm looking for is the optimal settings using the cam's OSD so I can dial them into a usable image. Would turning AGC off make for a better choice to get clearer day/night images? I'm using RG-59 cable runs under 100' and feeding 12VDC. Would 24VAC be a better choice? I'm not sure if this generates more heat in the cams resulting in more video noise. I have the Hikvision card set to 4CIF and resolution setting to maximum as to get the best image quality. So far I'm not impressed. As for additional cams, what brand/model in the same price range outperform the CB-SD21N-L? Thanks all. -
Looking for Polarized or Anti-reflective Lens filters.
Tailbone215 replied to btreats's topic in Security Cameras
This sounds more like an installation problem. I'm not sure what type of camera(s) you're using but adding a polarized filter may or may not mask the original problem. It will also cost you an f/ stop or two in light. You might want to consider relocating the cameras if you cant easily shield the light. -
Optimal settings for Nuvico CB-SD21N-L and other questions?
Tailbone215 replied to Tailbone215's topic in Security Cameras
Update! I picked up another Nuvico cam, same model from different vendor, and it is definitely performing so much better. Thanks to everyone who helped! -
why is a $300 true day/night better then a infrared?
Tailbone215 replied to Karen Love's topic in Security Cameras
I think the issue here is your posting style can be confused with what spammers do. We all learn from each other and I would rather see what contributions you have to offer, other than spamming your products. -

Optimal settings for Nuvico CB-SD21N-L and other questions?
Tailbone215 replied to Tailbone215's topic in Security Cameras
Thanks. All of that was checked and it was ultimately determined that these cams were defective. I'm sure Nuvico had QA problems on this production run. I was told that it could be a malfunctioning auto iris circuit as these cams weren't adjusting to compensate for different lighting conditions. Washed out during day and at night with IR on you can see the slight glow of the LEDs, but the picture was still almost black and noisy even with reflective objects less than 25' away. Believe me, I wished it was as simple as a dirty lens. Thanks again. -

Not sure what you mean? Is there something wrong with the Hikvision card that I'm not aware of? Thanks. -
Optimal settings for Nuvico CB-SD21N-L and other questions?
Tailbone215 replied to Tailbone215's topic in Security Cameras
That is an incredibly good IR image (almost too good to believe that they came from that cam at the overall distance covered without additional IR lighting) and I would have been happy to have half that performance at 25' and under. The two cams I had were ultimately deemed defective by a local installer and were returned to the vendor. I have exhausted all of the options outlined here and had no joy. The only good that came out of this experience is that I learned to never buy from an unauthorized reseller.
