If all else fails you could add this into the heater circuit. http://www.cantherm.com/products/control_thermostats/cantherm_mqt.pdf there are cheaper alternatives in bimeteallic cans TO-220 packaged options too.

considering using ACM-1231

You might want to try removieng the front glass to see if they go away. Might be relections from LEDs on it. It should help to make sure there is a rubber tube surrounding the lens and touching the glass to stop the relection on the lens. Had this happen on an IR bullet once.. -

That's really advanced. Never knew that existed before. Sounds like a great camera with exceptional features and a large learning curve. I'm paying attention to this one.... -
Some good choices for IP66 heated dome enclosures?
DoorMan replied to DoorMan's topic in Security Cameras
hi,my friend, our Dome camera have the IP 66,also the perfect effect at night, you can contact me as follows, then i will send the demo at night to you. _________________ MSN: ytdvr_sales@hotmail.com Skype: ytdvr_sales Why not just post a link so everyone can view it? i really don't care someone will buy our products or not, but don't speak ill of others behind their backs. You make me sick ! HUH? Sorry to make you sick. Was only wondering a couple things: I asked for information about enclosures not cameras? I asked for an online link to view dimensions. Then after you replied: I wondered what your cameras looked like in video. I wondered why you were trying to sell one on one. I wondred why you didn't post a link for all to see them. Now you posted a link and all can see them, and I have my own opinions of your product video. See that was easy right? This is an open forum so all should see right? This is not a one on one chat room after all.... So if I still make you sick...well I got to be honest here....my eyes are still blurry from that demo... Good luck! -

Because he will simply annoy people even more with his SPAM and rightfully and hopefully get blocked from posting! Please don't get him started on that again. A search of his past postings will reveal his contributions and motives. He wouldn't dare do that, he is afterall our friend.... Gotcha and thanks. -

Rory, What a great compilation of posts and link. This really is helpful to someone of my limited knowledge. Now that last link is filled with all the right info for some intellegent research not simply relying on blubs of short attention span info I've been running into. If my eyes weren't bleeding from the info contained in the post I'd read on throught the site you linked tonight. Time to fire up MathCad and have some fun with all that info.. Thanks alot for this. -

At Megapixel IP Cam rates you could spend several thousand dollars to test them out. That really hurts the wallet. I know they all lie, and the Japan mfg's use standardized test methods. Only to embellish them in the end but they should atleast be more uniform in real world results. But specifying like this:"Buy my camera it is .001 Lux" is unproveable. When spec'd like the above ,with all varibles listed, the verification can be done (if anyone really cares to that is). In the end it is buy and try it...and yes it does suck at $500 to $900 a pop. Just wanted to know how to run this math to determine the better cam of the two is all...I believe I do have it. -

50 IRE is a better image than 30 IRE produced by the camera. IRE is kind of slang when describing anything but an analog too. This is a decent article explaing the variables in play. http://www.mintron.com/HTM/Q&A/Q&A%20revised%20version(Sep.07)/Basic%20questions/Q1-Minimum%20illumination%200.0001%20lux.htm -

Is "cheap security" an oxymoron?
DoorMan replied to DoorMan's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hey thanks for the heads-up Doplgangr! They sure do seem like a busy bunch. I wish it were clear which of the new models are CCD and not. I know that when speaking with them they were very clear about what to expect with the 5311 and your right one of the best night videos I've seen was using the 5311. They definately are growing! They are a great group to speak with too. I've coupled this camera with a highest end 3 MP D/N lens (from Fujinon anyways),that just came out. My expectations are pretty high and hopefully I can look at all this with an objective eye when it arrives. I'm glad I got to choose the lens seperately on this one like we chatted last. -

I've only ever used Luxriot so I don't know the difference. This was cheap and available and covered most cameras I was looking at. Now the TCM-5311 that I ordered isn't supported by it. Probably soon though. Time to learn custom config in Luxriot I suppose..... -

Glad to hear they were what you expectd. That's the important part of all this. And I agree, with all the gadgets, gizmos and hoplah they are cameras first and foremost. I wouldn't mind spending but I would like to actually "see" where my money went....or specifically who would be walking away with it in the night. -

HA! Good one! Somre of the cameras I looked at over the last couple months are better spent as broom sticks.... With a little up front tooling I've heard of some $ 0.32 solutions as well -
Doing the math. Which is more sensitive to visible light?
DoorMan replied to DoorMan's topic in Security Cameras
Yes not too many companies rate their products with all of these specified. I'm hoping that the one's I'm looking at will infact be accurate enough to assume a decent real life replication. I've heard told the one's who do spec this way are the more trustworthy of manufacturers. Not the one's rating thier cameras with several thousand dollar lenses and such. Sony is one the the two.. Anyway figured I'd ask all the experts here. -

Responding to my own thread again. Nevermind I found it. It's a pretty simple equation really. I hope it proves as real world useful as it should for my purchases. -

Atleast I think that's all you guys would need? Am I missing some basic look-up tables to help determine this?
