    Lockbox Recommendation

Unfortuneately, I don't think we can relocate the dvrs. We don't really have any extra storage rooms or it would be way too far to rerun cable. The buildings were built a long time ago with none of the modern amenities such as storage closets, haha. For the ones we have in garages, We have shelves mounted in the garage, I was thinking of mounting the units under the shelves, that way they will stay away from peoples stuff and be off the ground.
  2. I have some DVR's at a few apartmetn buildings and we need to secure the dvrs. We usually end up putting them in a garage or hot water closet. We don't need a completely locktight system, but something that would at least deter someone from just stealing the thing. The problem I run into on our current lockboxes is they don't ventilate well enough. Getting larger ones would probably help instead of stuffing all the stuff inside (The installer we used kind of sucked, so now I'm picking up his mess). I live in southern california and the summers get kind of hot, 95-100 so the dvrs sitting in the garages or hot water closets really need good ventilation or they will burn out (I've already run into this problem). I would get a metal mesh box, but then too much dust gets in. Or should I not worry about the dust? I need to find a good balance. Does anyone have a recommendation on a well ventilated dvr lockbox?

Need Help Finding a DVR System

Thanks. I'll check those out. There are so many choices and options out there. The company we used to originally install the cameras is out of business and we have another company installing some, but I don't care for the systems the have put in. So I'm trying to see what else I can get. Does it make sense to look at any of the name brands out there, mitsubishi, samsung, sanyo, bosch, etc...

Need Help Finding a DVR System

4 channel. Static IP internet access.
  5. We are looking for some new dvrs to replace the previous dvrs we had which were Tempest systems (total pieces of junk). The camera systems are for apartment buildings. The buildings are not large enough to have managers offices so we usually figure out a place to put the systems. The systems are in a lockbox and kept in the garages. Part of the problem is the enclosures we used did not have adequate ventilation. Now I'm looking for some replacement dvr's. Can anyone recommend a good dvr in the 500-700 range (Or if that range is unreasonable a higher price range) that is durable, can be viewed remotely and has at least a 300gb hard drive. Also, I have a problem with lockboxes, can anyone recommend lockboxes that have adequate ventilation but keep dust out. The lockboxes I have no only have a little ventilation and one or two fans, so dust stays out, but the units still get too hot. Thanks.
