outdoor cameras (true day/night, cold weather, vandal proof)
edselrt replied to dave2011's topic in Security Cameras
Now we are talking! -
I checked my copy of the software and looks like there is no setting to turn it on or off . My software automatically overwrites the recording though The netvision software does support auto overwrite recorded files, or set the days for keeping the recorded video, please see attach. Best Regards. thanks for pointing that out William

$250 for a good camera with heater is really tight. Even if you buy it from Ebay, a CNB VCM-24VFH costs $215 plus duties and taxes and NO WARRANTY. Here in Canada, your budget can only buy a similar specs or CNB camera without heater (rated at -10 to 50deg) -

Overwriting old recorded files when hard disk is full should be supported. check your settings.

16channel PC DVR w/NAS
edselrt replied to wvanthony's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
The Advantech models you mentioned doesn't interface to HAI home automation controller serially which the original poster was asking. I think most PC based dvr's support integrating to I/O cards serially (COM port). AFAIK, I don't know of any PC based DVR that can integrate to HAI thru serial connection. -

I can assign an output to each cameras..ie camera 1 to trigger output 1 then trigger zone 15 of HAI, cam 2 to trigger output 2 etc etc. Where are you from? My I/O card connects to the serial port of my PC DVR. -

I am using Netvision PC dvr integrated with my HAI omnipro II. All of the functions you stated above are supported except for serial communication of alarm I/O board to HAI. I use alarm output relay from the I/O card to trigger HAI auxilliary inputs. With this method I was able to create a rule so that whenever my outside motion activates and HAI auxilliary input becomes unsecure, outside lighting turns on. -
Its called a "dummy" camera ... am i wrong? No. It was just a typo error letters M and N are right by each other

I tried using IVMS4000 connecting to a hybrid dvr with IVMS200. When trying to do VOD playback, it retrieves all recorded files from the pc dvr. When you click on the time axis the actual video that is playing is way off from the actual time of recording that you picked. Sometimes the video would not play at all and software will just freeze. I am using IVMS4000 V2.02.01.0000 build 100512. Anybody here have the same experience? thanks

Upgrade to 8.4 if your card supports it. I had the same issue before, check my thread here: viewtopic.php?f=36&t=23276 For tech support just go to geovision website and use the live chat. Thats what I used before to get help
-
I was told by geo usa tech support that this ip cam will not work with v8.3.1 . I was advised to upgrade to 8.4. So sure enough, the camera work right away after upgrading. Im a happy camper
-
So I added 1 GV-BL110D to Geovision DVr ver 8.3.1. I was able to set up the Ip camera and the status column from within the setup menu displays "connected" but I can't see the live feed from the Ip camera. It just shows blank screen. I can only see the live view when using Dmmultiview. What is causing this problem? thanks
-
Thanks for your help guys. Upgrading seems like a not so simple process. Since this is my first time dealing with Geovision, i would just install the ip cams and use the existing version
-
How do you upgrade to 8.4? Do you have to uninstall the older version first? What about your old settings? Recordings? I am thinking of just adding 4 gvip without upgrading the software but if its easy to upgrade to 8.4, I might do it as well
-
Thanks for your suggestion. I have read your thread regarding the same topic, have you upgraded your software to 8.4 already? If i use existing software ver 8.31, do i still need a dongle with geovision ip cam?
-
I got a copy of this software and tried to experiment with it. I tried to stream video from my hikvision pc-dvr but could not get it to work. Anybody here have experience with this software?
-
Thanks for your suggestion but I gave up on this software already. Good-looking gui is all you can get from this. I went back to using Netvision's OEM software. Very stable with good tech support

NVR with spot/split screen output
edselrt replied to Anthony A.'s topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
You can use a hybrid dvr with matrix decoder to output to a TV with composite input
