I think this issue with IVMS4000 can be duplicated even when connecting to a stand alone DVR
-
I got a DS4008HCI with IVMS2000. Since my PC-dvr is hidden, I access live video, recording and dvr set up remotely within the LAN using IVMS4000. Maybe you can try this yourself too. Access recording remotely using IVMS4000. Pick a certain time and take note of it and compare it with the actual video that is playing.lets see if you can duplicate this issue..

I think its not the clock. Because when you click a recording on the time axis it will show you the time that the recording or event happened but the actual video that will play is always ahead. say I want to play the recording from camera 1 starting at 5pm. I will drag the mouse on the time axis and it will show the time at 5pm. When you double click it, the video that will play is not from 5pm sometimes its 30 minutes or hours ahead.

What Kind of PC based DVR should I build?
edselrt replied to caltbaum's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
What kind of client software are you using? If you are using IVMS4000, once you are connected, just click the dvr from the site tree and then you will see the list of cameras that you can connect to. Just drag the cameras one by one to your live view screen and you should be able to see the live view -
Hikvision ? What the ...??!
edselrt replied to brianj's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
I think they should concentrate more in fixing software bugs than adding more functionality to their software -
Hi, Most of these if not all can be done with a stand alone dvr. I am using a PC based dvr integrated with HAI panel to achieve a more reliable sensor and motion based recording. The way my DVR is set up is it sends me an email with picture only when my panel is armed away and my outside sensor detects motion as well as motion from my outside camera. These three conditions need to be satisfied first before it sends out email. There are so many integrations that can be done with this set up. You can also control your lights or open your garage from remote client software. This way you dont need to open snap link or WL3. All these integrations are relay based though.

SkyVision, NetVision, HikVision .. WhichVision?
edselrt replied to rory's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
Now with version 6.38(OEM) or 5.38(netvision) you can now export to AVI or MPEG4 directly. Another new feature that is worth mentioning (at least for me) is the automatic back up. You can choose to back up motion or sensor recording only and have it saved to an external or network drive. -
Merlin SecurDVR software
edselrt replied to edselrt's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
Thanks. I'll give it a try -
I got a Merlin Securdvr PC-based DVR from a client who just upgraded to a stand alone DVR. The Dvr card is still working but I don't have a driver or software because I formatted the hard disk already. The company who made this DVR (Merlin technologies) is not in business anymore. Do you know where I can get a copy of software and driver for this? This DVR is using conexant BT878a with four chips in one card. I tried using WDM video capture driver but it did'nt work. Thanks edsel

Does Skyvision still exist? Free Hikvision Software?
edselrt replied to koolmer's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
Try this link..http://www.ameta.ca/demo.php You can connect to a standalone dvr, Dvr card and 2 MP ip camera. Get the latest ivMS 2000 from there too. There is no IVMS 4000 server AFAIK. -
Does Skyvision still exist? Free Hikvision Software?
edselrt replied to koolmer's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
you are right. its just a client program that can connect to IVMS2000 to preview live cameras as well as recording. Both are nice looking software. although IMO IVMS2000 is more polished in terms of functionality. Maybe you can try testing IVMS4000 and check if you will experience the same problem that I encountered with that software as discussed here..viewtopic.php?f=2&t=21404 -

Password Security on CCTV systems / Internet
edselrt replied to mateck8888's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
Hi Matt, IMO.. just keep it simple. Just open up ports and make sure you change the default ports especially the http port. For me, its not worth the hassle setting up VPN since your DVR is on a dedicated network. A determined hacker can hack a secured network if he wants to. Edsel -
Password Security on CCTV systems / Internet
edselrt replied to mateck8888's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
If it is a high security environment, your client will not allow you to forward ports. If they are concerned with security you should just ask your client's network admin to set up a VPN connection. With this configuration, all remote pc's that are connecting to the dvr will need to access the VPN connection first, then connect to the DVR -
How to Remote Viewing of cams using QX2006
edselrt replied to gasolina's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
First off you should contact your supplier for help on the set up of your DVR. Now you indicated 5050 as your web server port, Can you verify if it is correct? Are you using Internet explorer? Is your internet explorer set to allow active X downloading and install? edsel -

h264 Hardware Cards.. Hikvision??
edselrt replied to brianj's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
I dont think that is a pirated card. The specs and appearance looks like an Hikvision card. The only problem I can see here is the software that's bundled with the card. It might not be a good software You can get a very good software for that card that supports internet or Iphone viewing. I would like to know the answer to the original poster's question too..
