Most important feature/function of a DVR.
spytown replied to kandcorp's topic in General Digital Discussion
I would have to agree with Sean. It depends on what is important for your application. For example-Do you need Dynamic IP Support like the Nuvico units offer? Do you need a unit with a built in CDRW or DVD? Do you need to stay Cheap or do you have some money to spend...there are lots of factors...not a straight forward answer. -
even Dedicated Micros has an online free CCTV Class..follow this link http://www.stamhost.com/dmlms/login.asp

RIP ...have you had issues with us before? I am not aware of any, and do not know who you are. If you have any issue with SpyTown, you now have someone personally to get involved and help you. I am here in the forum to share my 15 years of CCTV and Security Knowledge , and to try to make everyone experience with SpyTown an even better experience. I dont see ADI here in the forum. I dont see any other member trying to bring manufacturers here to the site to get involved as well. Again, if you have any issues talk to me personally. Thank you. Enough with the RUDE remarks.

be careful of the "XG" series from Nuvico, been alot of "issues" on those units that they still havent been able to figure out yet.

screenshots of dvrs and cameras
spytown replied to griffonsystems's topic in General Digital Discussion
I have contacted a few manufacturers including KT&C and Speco and asked them for screenshots for some of their most popular cameras. It is being worked on and when it is ready i will have them posted. -
I thought it would be nice to have some manufacturers input in this forum as well. I let KT&C know about this excellent site, as well as Weldex. I am sure soon you will see some posts from them. I am trying to help and support this site and all of its members.

gabe.. I may be able to assist you with pricing and can beat ADI'S pricing. I am a member of this forum as well. you can PM me for any quotes you may need. I can also suggest different equipment for you for different applications. Thank you. Howard SpyTown.com

rory..you buying directly from Extreme in Canada or sourcing it?

I would have to agree and suggest using the "s" surface mount version. remember the "s" version may cost a few dollars extra, but is worth it. This version has the back surface mount plate included in the box. Therefore it is really the "F" with a surface mount plate back that can come off.

I've heard of Designss , i believe they are based out of PA. They do consulting and Design for large projects. Once a consultant likes a brand, he stays with it. I'm familiar with the Nuvico line and I can tell you though, they are good cameras. Nuvicio is not the actual manufacture for the cameras, but the cameras are excellent.

Complete Noob...wants to build a pc based monitoring system
spytown replied to Liquid Cool's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
speco's line of "EX" cameras like the CVC-637EX, CVC-6805EX, CVC-870EX, etc.. all are no longer Day/Night cameras as well all no longer have the EX-view chip in it. We have had all the specs on our site updated to reflect that. You may want to be careful, if you order any of the "EX" models, the outside boxes STILL currently show Day/Night, but are not.
