Yeah, the passuninstall will only work if you had the allow removal .... option checked. For the programmers out there remember that that value has to be written somewhere... Also, yeah I mean a windows reinstall.

How to setup GeoVision for Remote View using Dynamic IP
andy replied to radigital's topic in Geovision
Haha, I don't remember ever seeing a RTFM answer on here before. To answer the question though: yes, most of us know how to set up remote view with a dynamic ip. -
The password was in the registry last I checked. Seek and ye shall find. But, a reinstall is probably your best bet since you don't really want to be mucking in the registry unless you know what your doing.

Stress Test / Burn In
andy replied to eyeonutech's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
I don't know if it was a dream, but I remember using Sandra by SiSoftware. This is basically a benchmarking utility, but I swear it had an in-Windows burn-in utility. Might be worth a look. -
cash register device for reading output to dvr system
andy replied to panjabi's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
If your register has a builtin printer you should be able to feed off of the ribbon cable that attached to it. -
If I was a betting man I would put some money down on system addressing on the Keyboard. Did you double check that?
-
These are only for v2 and v3 boards. If you have a v3.3 or above you don't need the dongle since 7.x is all you can run.
-
I wonder if temporarily changing the %windows% or %system% path when installing would work. Or, maybe adding the second drive. Ahh, nevermind this is what no sleep in a week will do to a man.
-
You can go straight to the 7.x software with the USB Dongle. No need to upgrade your card. But, you won't be able to use 6.1x software.
-
In reply to the original post, yes you need a modem. You'll also need a SIM chip from a wireless provider. You should be able to get a model # from Geo Tech Support.
-
Yes it does work. The most important thing to keep in mind is that this feature is not meant to be used in an area with heavy traffic. If the parking lot isn't too busy then it would work fine.
-
I stand by my initial question. Don't know if it was noticed.
-
You can always use a switch, but if your gonna do NIC to NIC you need a crossover cable. You'll get nothing with a regular patch cable.
-
If you have a V2 POS Box, be aware that the DB25 port is actually an RS232C port (serial). If your trying to plug that into a parallel port it won't work.
-
Nope. Not possible. You'll need one system per card.
-
Haha, I did for a whole week. But, the better part of my employment was with USA Vision in Irvine, CA.

The Diamond Supramax SM56E is one of the modems we tested and always recommended while I was working at Geovision. Here is the link to the actual NewEgg product page: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16825116109

Early November was the date that I had....

paowens76: just had a look at the mobo specs..it shows that it comes with Norton Anti-Virus..you didn't install it did you? If you did, try uninstalling and running the system because there is a know issue with Norton and Geovision. Also, I hope I'm looking at the right board, but this one shows that it has onboard video on it. If it does make sure you disabled it in the BIOS.

Anyone know how to make a time laspe movie from a GEOVISION?
andy replied to iwatchlive's topic in Geovision
I don't know if this idea would work, but I'm just kinda thinking out loud. What if you used the GeoFTP server option..this uploads a snapshot to a server you designate, but it just overwrites the image..so you would have to create a batch file to rename the image with the time and date or something, everytime you needed the snapshot...then, I saw an app. called Img2AVI (it's in german and supposedly you need some other app. installed, but it worked for me) that has a command line interface...you can then create another batch file to point this app. to the directory where the images are and create the .avi..phewww. Meh. -
Try removing the GV card and running your PC to make sure that it's not the machine acting up. Remove the card making sure to completely remove all drivers, again run the machine to make sure it's fine. Reinstall the card and drivers see if it will run, also try another PCI slot. If you can try it on another PC do it. If your webserver is dying unexpectedly, make sure you don't have any other software competing for the same TCP/IP ports. This is usually the root of all webcam problems.

We do that now, with VNC Yeah and I just read that gorillas used tools too, doesn't mean they were as nice as what we have now.

I think the best part of the new software is the Control Center. This allows you to remotely administer your DVR's. Something to look forward too.

Yep, the ATI x200 is the ATI integrated graphics chipset so this suggests an ATI chipset. I know that the older ATI chipsets were on the DO NOT USE list, but I don't know if the new ones have been tested yet. Be careful with SiS also, some of the older ones are on the DO NOT USE list too. Stick to Intel or nForce just to be safe. I would like to know the rate consultants are charging these days too.
