    Dahua or Hikvision

I need to propose an entry level, real time CIF 16 channel DVR to a corporate client. The client will need at least 20 such DVRs over the next two years and hence, wants to choose a brand carefully. He wants to access all the DVRs on the net and hence, wants a user friendly CMS. Which brand should i propose Hikvision or Dahua. If possible, please also propose model numbers.
  2. I am no expert on the subject, but i prefer Hikvision DVRs over Avtech. Their DVRs are quite reliable and have a very good CMS software. They also have very good mobile viewing softwares.
  3. Come on friends. Help me out please...........
  4. I have installed Hikvision Mobile viewing software V1.10.01 build20100608.rar on a Blackberry Bold 9700. I have followed the installation manual and done all necessary settings (firewall etc.). However, i still cannot view the DVR on the blackberry while it works perfectly on Nokia e 71 (different software). Can anyone suggest what am i doing wrong.
  5. Thanks EPCOM but i cannot access these sites from my laptop. Is there any other way to download these softwares?
  6. Could you kindly let me know where can i get iVMS 4500 for my Nokia and Blackberry?
  7. Thanks for your reply. Page 17 talks about how to make groups of the cameras. Can you be more specific about what you are referring in the manual??
  8. I have just installed a Hikvision 7216 HVI - 16 Channel DVR for a client. The DVR can be viewed both over the LAN and the internet from the IE as well as the software provided by Hikvision called iVMS 4000. The DVR is for an office and 4 people are authorized to view it from their PCs. The problem is that not more than one person can log on to the DVR at any given point of time. I believe the second software that comes in the Hikvision CD called Stream Media Server is the answer to this problem. However, i don't know how to use it. Can someone help???
  9. Need some help. Have been trying, unsuccessfully, to stream the audio channel of an Avtech 761 DVR over the net. The audio input is wired properly and has been tested on a speaker by connecting the output to it. So faulty wiring is not the problem. The video is streaming perfectly. Hence, no problem there as well. It is just the audio that i am struggling with. Another client with an Avtech 791 also wants to hear audio. I am afraid i might have the same problem there or with a Hikvision 7204, 7208 etc. Am i doing something wrong or missing something??? Please Help
  10. Just press zoom and slow together. You can hear the audio along with any camera that is connected to port no. 1.
  11. OK Great. Go to the DVR and press "slow" and "zoom" at the same time to select live audio. Log on to the DVR through the IE and select the speaker Icon. Select the channel which has audio attached with it and ideally you should hear audio.
  12. 2 Questions i. Can you hear the audio on a TV or LAN? ii. Can you log on to the DVR remotely through the Internet Explorer?
  13. Dear Mr. Farr Thank you for the quick reply. Since my last post, i have been able to stream audio from the 791 on the net and am able to hear it on the Mac internet browser. However, the 761 is still a problem. To answer your question, i have not used the Avtech software. I have been trying to listen to the audio using the Mac browser.
  14. Does any of the new AVC series Avtech DVRs work with the MAC OS? I have used the AVC 791 and although it says that it suports MAC OS X, i cannot split the screen to view all cameras simultaneously nor can i activate the switcher function (where the DVR switches the screen from one camera to the next after a predetermined interval) Can someone help??
  15. Can someone help me out? I need the Eagle Eyes software for a Blackberry Bold/Curve, a Nokia E 71 and a Windows mobile. As http://211.22.74.18 is down i am stuck. Can anyone suggest another site where these softwares are available or send me a copy. I will be grateful.
  16. Hey Stressboyz2, which version of Eagle Eyes did you instal on the blackberry bold?
  17. Please share your thoughts on which of these two DVRs is better Hikvision 7204 vs Avtech 761. Kindly compare them on the following parameters. i. Live Viewing ii. Viewing recorded video iii. Compression iv. Remote Viewing v. Cell Phone access vi. Ease of use Any other parameter that you think is relevant
  18. I have an E 71 as well and Eagle eye works just fine on it.
