That’s funny, I am looking for the same kind of enclosure myself. The camera I have is a Sanyo VCC-4594 with AI lens. That Samsung enclosure looks great but the specs say "Use: Indoor". Any other small outdoor enclosures that someone can reccomend?

The weather has been bad the past few days. I will try and get out this weekend and take some measurments and some pictures.

I have one slightly used UF500 730nm 30 degrees filter I would like to sale or swap for an 830nm or a 950nm 30 degrees filter. Thanks

I haven't purchased the camera yet. I just tested the area with the UF500 and my existing EX46 with a color monitor. I was just saying the strenght and glow of that 730nm UF500 filter is strong. I'm thinking about switching to the 830nm or 950nm UF500 filter.

I'm fairly new to IR applications and have recently picked up a UF500 to illuminate my back yard and the back of my house. I could really use some suggestions on cameras and lenses from anyone who as experience with UF500 installations. The UF500 I have is the: UF500.301 (730nm, 30 degree beam)

I still haven’t decided on a camera yet. I have been testing with my EX46. Right now I am almost leaning back toward extreme again. You guys were right about the strength of that 730nm filter, it’s almost too strong. I have been doing some testing with the UF500 and my EX46. I'm thinking about selling the 730nm filter or swapping it out with someone for a 830nm or 930nm filter. Anyone interested? Also if I change the filter to a 830nm or a 950nm will that change anyone’s recommendation? Any dealers want to PM me a price on a EX27MX or a 830nm 30 degree filter?

Rory, I’m almost considering the box camera. Your UF500 example: Was with the Sanyo Day/Night right? What were the specs on the UF500 you used for that application, 30 degrees / 850 nm? What specs should I look for, for a good IR corrective lens? Rory, I found some previous posts where you mentioned using Sanyo Day/Night cameras. Did you use a vcc4794 or a vcc4594 or have you used both? Also which lense did you use in those applications? Thanks

Any particular models for the Fujinon or the Extreme CCTV lenses you would recommend? Anyone else have any experiences with cameras and lens types for UF500 installations?

Thanks for the responses, I picked up the UF500 from a liquidation sale. The UF500 came with the UF500.001 power supply. I have around three quarters of an acre that I would like to illuminate (well at least as much as I can). The UF500 and camera will reside at the back of my property and will diagonally cover my back yard and the back of my house. If I can get home early enough before it gets dark here I will try to grab a picture and post it. Rory, thanks for the post. I was thinking about an EX27. I assume that the EX27MX is the best to use out of the EX27 line? Also, what IR corrective lens options would you recommend for a box camera?

I have a couple of cameras I need some help with. I have 5 cameras up in total on the system and only two of them are having major issues like the below. Both cameras having problems are Extreme B/W cameras (EX46 & EX10). I'm a little new to installing, has anyone seen this before? Any suggestions as to what it could be? Here are some sample shots from both cameras: Backyard_01 Backyard_02 Garage_01 Garage_02 Here is an example from the same system of another camera that does not share the problem: I have checked both cables for severe bends, cut off the existing cable ends and started from scratch with new cable ends. Thanks CSG, that’s something worth trying. I could use a couple of external supplies to play with anyways so I might try that out this weekend. Rory, I will probably take you up on that email if the above doesn’t correct the issue. PS: The ALTV1224C power supply is rated at 7.0 amps total. 3.5 amp @ 12VDC & 3.5 amp 24VAC The power consumption rates on the cameras are: 3103 - 110ma EX46N - 220ma EX10S - 120ma Thanks again!

Rory, I tried switching the EX10 to the 12vdc connection on the ALTV1224C. The picture on both cameras still had scan lines but not as bad as before. For grins I moved the EX46 to a 12vdc connection on the ALTV1224C and instantly the line problems on both cameras disappeared. The problem must have something to do with the cameras running at 24vac together. I think the only thing that I’m loosing by running 12vdc is the built in IR capabilities of the EX46N. I will probably give Extreme a call in the next few days to see what they have to say about the configuration. I can’t be happier ridding the problem though! Couldn’t have done it with out your help! Both the EX46 and the EX10 are using 24VAC on the same power supply.

Thanks guys for the help. I will be home and will try some of your suggestions. Rapid: I will try one camera at a time and see what effect that has. RVRBOY420007: All cameras are on the same power supply. Both the Extreme cameras are 24V. The ProVideo and GANZ is 24V as well and are not having a problem. The lines in the video are rolling. Rory: I will try out what you said and connect them up to a test monitor and see what happens. There are two color cameras (the GANZ and the ProVideo) that are having no problem at all. There is a third color camera that is having a slight problem when compared to the B/W. This camera is a generic camera (3103). Color Sharp 1/3" CCD Weatherproof Infrared Day/Night 12V camera that I picked up from cctvimports.com (works very nice for the doorway application). The BNC connectors are crimped with soldered gold plated tips. The cable lengths for the two Extreme are; EX46 around 65FT and EX10S around 40FT. The other cameras are; GANZ around 30ft, 3103 around 40 ft, and ProVideo around 40ft. The ProVideo, GANZ, and the two Extreme Cameras are all 24v, the 3103 is 12V. I tried to keep both cameras as far away as possible from high voltage. The EX46 wire runs through the attic which has some high voltage lines for ceiling fans and lights. To test the AC interference theory I switched off both breakers for all the attic AC lines checked the camera but the problem persisted. I'm looking for an indoor color camera for monitoring a dog's room. The room is 8X8 with 11ft ceiling and is lit by a 2 bulb 4ft florescent light. The dogs won't be in the room with the lights off therefore low light or infrared cameras shouldn’t be needed. I want high resolution and was thinking about a high resolution camera, but was wondering if a high resolution camera is really needed to get high resolution in a room that small with ample lighting. For this room camera type doesnt matter, although I have read in other posts that box cameras deliver better resolution. I would really perfer to buy in the $75 - 150 price range (if I can) but would pay extra money $150 up (to get high resolution). Thanks, JT

Thanks Rory for your response. I planed on doing this CCTV system earlier this year (I already bought a GV800 7.X and workstation) but haven’t had time to implement anything due to traveling the past few months. Right now the wife is after me to get the system up and running with a camera to monitor the dog's room. One of our AKC Champion French Bulldogs is expecting a litter and she wants a camera setup to monitor the dog and pups. The dogs are small (20 lb) and the puppies are tiny (fit within the palm of your hand), therefore to monitor the dogs and the pups I figured high resolution may be needed. I don’t care either way B/W or color, however the wife said she would prefer color and she wants to be able to see the puppies clearly. The room is a climate controlled storage room dedicated to the dogs. Its 8x8 ft with an 11ft ceiling. I was planning on mounting the camera in the corner of the room from the ceiling. So that’s the overall scoop. I would prefer not to buy anything more than what I need to do the job, however since the wife is driving this camera in the setup I’m sure I wont be getting any flack for going into the $150+ range

How about these box cameras? GE CCTV KTC-815C 1/3" Hi Res 480 TVL Color CCTV Camera Bosch LTC 0455/21 CAMERA 1/3" 540 TVL COLOR DSP 12VDC/24VAC 60Hz Anyone have any experiance with these? Are they overkill for this small area?
