  1. Madmarlon - Hi - as I mentioned earlier in the post, I don't know this software but can probably advise re: pink screen - this is usually caused by the Direct Overlay settings - if on - switch off, if off switch on. Hope this helps Jim

    Attempted Burglary

Hi - as soon as you can get it uploaded post a link - one of my clients who specializes in video analytics has said he will have a go at enhancement.
  3. Not sure about all other models but the AVTech 792,782,715,717 and digiguard support FTP as far as I can remember.

    CCTV on iphone

Hi, Iphones are a nightmare - despite quicktime being a mac application the iphone does not support it - normally requires mjpeg, so depending on the recorder you sometimes have to fork out for a small ipserver using mjpeg and us3rd party integration - if anyone has cracked this any other way please let me know. Cheers

    Pocket DVR?

Sorry - should have added - no pocket size but easily fits under seating.

    Pocket DVR?

Hi - have not used many of these but I've supplied a few clients with the Avermedia EB1304MOB dvrs with the image stabilisation software and have not had any complaints. Units are quite small but record to HD - cost in the UK is around £300, not sure about the states.

    Attempted Burglary

Hi, just to confirm what Squiffy has said - you are limited to the original footage resolution so whilst it may be ossible to enhance the image slightly, it is unlikely that enough definition would be gained to ID the complete plate although partial recognition may be possible.

    New Business Help

Hi, I'm in the UK so unsure about your local supply setup - If it were me, I'd run with Scorpion's suggestions as I think he's spot on re: easy start up. I know some dismiss the likes of the AVTech entry models but building a customer base is important and in the current economic climate everyone cuts back. The newer 791 and 792 models from AVTech are reasonably good units and we have noticed a considerable increase in the number of trade customers using them. They are quick and easy to install and not complicated for the end-user. Camera wise - again if it's mainly the domestic, and small retail market you are initially targeting, cameras like the TC138EXT are a good place to start, inexpensive but integrated IR, 520TVL and a 92 degree angle of view make them suitable for most small installations. At the higher end of the scale I would recommended most of the new Samsung Electronics products as they are some of the best I've seen especially the x512 sens up cameras and the new 8162 DVR - 400FPS at D1, 1080p HDMI output etc. but quite a bit more expensive. Best Of luck!
  9. Hi, are you in the UK? As Cqdvr has said Kits for DIY install are readily avilable, if it's just for general overview and prevention - a few high res integrated IR wide angle cameras and DVR would normally be the least expensive option. If you are placing the DVR in the living area - ensure DVR is one with Fanless operation as most units create a certain amount of noise due to the cooling fans. Connection to a standard TV is easily acheived via Scart or AV Input.
  10. Hi, I'm not familiar with the software but check to see if the record schedule requires setting for motion detection but it sounds like a reasonably low end card if the detection is not fully programable.
  11. As Squiffy has already said, if there is no option for de-interlace, virtualdub will be the easiest (and cheapest) way to clean up the files but at the distance from camera to plate results may still fall short, as previous posters have mentioned, plate capture can be difficult. It's normally easier to try to ensure plate itself takes up a larger area of the recorded frame - although scorpions speed bump camera solution is great - first time I've seen that application in such a simplified form. I've recently used one of the latest Samsung Electronics DVRs and camera setups for plate capture and the results were among the best I've seen - but the customer had a large budget as the equipment was not particularly cheap.
