    Testing CCTV Analogue Cable

Hi what is your coax running … camera feed or dvr feed to your monitor doing ohms test will show nothing you need a bnc 75ohm resistor plug at one end but 450ft of coax and power will not run anything at that distance

    Floureon 4 channel NVR

Hi sounds like the output resolution has been set too high for your monitor/tv do you have a 1080p monitor ? If you do and it’s not showing cameras then you might have set res to 4K
  4. Hi sorry been working last few days I would look at a TVT system it’s reliable and will last years also it has the best app available for a nvr …. Gives you full control of cameras and nvr and also remote reboot the app is SuperLive plus what part of the US and I’ll try find a store

Hi…… unless you pay then only your device has cloud access these are not cctv cameras and as you see there only $30 but the cloud cost once you go for over 7 days it starts to get expensive I don’t understand why people buy these after reading the terms and conditions also did you inform family and friends the data collected from there devices before you added them both extra recordings(over7days) and cloud (more than 1 person) needs you to go on monthly subscription and they don’t guarantee your footage you don’t need subscription for cctv
  7. Hi we’re are you based and how many cameras do you have now and how many are you looking at upgrading too if your buying a nvr now is the time to buy for the amount of channels you want if you give a location I’ll find links for you
  8. Hi. It’s unusual for someone to take the pc or nvr and leave the cameras …. So you are a winner if there still working and touring you might find last owner has access if internet is still available these cameras also carry a onboard SD card …. Buy removing the card and installing into a pc will give you the details for that camera ….. name …… local iP …. Which is a good start for resetting I would also only do 1 cam at a time as they are still recording to the sd card giving you protection (about 2 days of recording) I would go with a nvr that supports axis cameras which is the cheapest option

    Hikvision DS-K2604T Four-Door Access Controller

  10. Not of default passwords ……. It’s a simple keyboard operation it’s only 3 digits If your reply was something like ….. I just got it secondhand or given it then I would of sent you the code but just asking for UC and not explain why….. the UC is a code used everyday so you can’t have forgotten it……… yes it’s 10 years old but still used
  11. Hi most controllers have this function and is programmable from a few minutes to hours it stops unauthorised operation on the cameras giving a generated password on a forum would be a unreasonable action if it’s your controller or your the administrator then you should know the set code anyway
  12. Thank you Charlie ….. this is what the forums for. clad we could help Simple things that should be in the manuals but never are 👍

    Hanwha: Expensive mistake

Hi so am I so you have paid over £300 for the Samsung and it’s just a standard 5mp camera qnap does support most cameras but the problem is a lot of ptz are software based for tracking ….. a lot have there software on the nvr for the ptz tracking so you should be looking for ptz with software onboard it’s more reliable and much better qnap supports over 90% of either but for the money your talking of I would look at smart tracking I’ll pm you a video of one

    Hanwha: Expensive mistake

Yes you have support so that’s rubbish this makes no sense at all ……. Camera - PTRZ is not PTZ writen at the top of there page yet at the bottom you read this The PTRZ function is controlled with the virtual joystick and can be maneuvered 360 degrees. The forward and backward arrows will rotate the lens clockwise and counter-clockwise. The Auto Roll will allow the camera to adjust the rotation of the camera to a balanced view. so it’s mis sold as it has ptrz in the description so you have been missold a camera now many companies give a made up name for adjustment it used to be call axis setup but just means you manually setup its field of view so basically you have a static camera that will never be a ptz so you can’t use it as one samsung equipment is overpriced Hanwha has changed its name twice because of there mistakes now price of that camera you have …… is well overpriced…. You could have bought a real ptz camera with all you’re looking for ….. a lot less but fight them for miss selling …… it is listed as a ptrz …….. there discription says not ptz yet same page says ptrz is a ptz
  18. Ok you will fry the cpu if you don’t change that fan also remember the cooling paste
  19. Hi they were not sold with cable management boxes …. It’s the same with most manufacturers you could make your own or buy a multi fit box like this one … and it fits the bosh https://www.sourcesecurity.com/cctv-mounts.html
  20. The recorder will keep stop starting or only run short time is your fan on the side or over the cpu
  21. Hi then as expected you have a fan problem which is common with that type of dahua unplugging the fan is not going to help as it has a monitoring check on startup and run fan not turning = fault fan drawing to much amps= fault some dahua units have led lights on main board …. All 4 on good (green) any red will not stay running hard drive is grayed out as it can’t read it but just formatting is not going to help just use a hard drive that has not been in the recorder also another thing to check is the DVRs power supply check it’s 12v and 2amp output
  22. Hi if it’s been working for that amount of time you might also have a problem with cooling fans ….. have you checked if there spinning on startup other beeping problems can also be faulty hard drive … have you tried another are you using remote viewing or remote software …… I think your system is the dahua unit at least 12 years old DMSS for cell or PSS for pc means a dahua system

Hi I have worked with many police video forensic teams all over uk the reason why I asked who has the recorder is important All recorders for years have two types of burn off (footage) which is burn off to a cd - pen drive … but these are Dav or Avi files converted by recorder to play back only on pc now there is also a native file ….. which is why the police take the recorder away the native file is footage data that has not had a player attached like dav and avi files do and this holds all information importantly the electronic signature and a watermark… this will show the police that the recorder was turned off or a file has been deleted it will even tell them time and date and duration watermarks and electronic signatures can’t be removed from native files so it gives forensics team all the info they need including removed files which can be recovered I don’t know what country you’re in but your friend needs to be careful…… depending on the type of crime committed is it just going to be a fine or is it jail ? as far as recorder faults yes there can be setup problems ….. motion set too low ….. a wrong schedule set up .. but this would show up same time same day on prior weeks …. But also show on signature or watermark as far as outside tampering or removal of footage …… someone would have to be watching his system 24/7 and if they see his crime delete the footage …. That does not happen ……. But again the forensics team will have also checked that in two ways again watermark and signature but also the police would of asked from your friends internet service provider for a log of activity in and outbound traffic now if the police have gone this far with him then they have more footage than what you have seen (native files) which can’t be removed….. this is why the police took the recorder …. Burnt off footage can be manipulated native files can’t with out showing up on watermark and signature again it depends on the crime if your friend wants to fight it ….. is it just a fine or prison? and also take into account costs around two years ago in Birmingham it was a news agents between 7am and 8 am the staff would switch off the recorder to sell tobacco to kids ( split packs of cigarettes up) to sell one or two to kids each morning Monday to Friday he tried to fight in court he never did the offences till watermark and electronic signature showed he did ……. 4 months prison and £400 fine …… and he also had to pay forensics time …. Over £32k
