  1. Hi dejota. ease of use ......(post, cant remove footage) must play footage back without 3rd party software/ ability to export recorded data to approprite mediums. none of which the secbo sdvr-b-p04 can do. my point about my post is ebay crap is crap. when cctv was about footage on a video tape end users could not go wrong now with digital end users go for price. or how many flashing lights and how it looks. without looking at the important stuff like ease of use , does it burn to pen/cd/dvd along with the player. people buy cctv for home use to protect them from problems. buying cheap crap only gives you another problem. you have some very good budget systems on the market like the Avermedia 1304 sata or the Avertech both for not alot more money.
  2. Hi just down loaded the manual. first remove all software from your pc that you loaded when you installed the disk. then connect your dvr to your pc and wait for icon to come on screen click on it and it will then ask you to install the software. if you are in the uk the police or the courts will not use your footage. they also need to use the software that came with the dvr. they wont bother. like said in the other post connect a video recorder to the bnc output and record it from there. another ebay cctv system. from china. the cost of the dvr with 500g h/d £100 take away the cost of the h/d and the dvr is £50 WHY WHY BUY IT you cant even call it budget system i have paid more for a pair of socks. the most important part of a cctv system is the dvr. this is what holds the footage. the information you have recorder. if you cant get it off just put it in the bin and again if you are in the uk your footage can not be used. http://www.cctvengineer.com/home%20office.pdf SORRY ABOUT ME VENTING OFF
  3. HI gooty. you cant go usb from dvr to usb on your pc. your pc is windows and your dvr is linux. you need to put a usb memory stick into your dvr and do your back-up to that. then play it on your pc. were are you ???

if you keep with port 5550 then you do not need a static ip port 5550 will keep you logged on to avers dnn server Interesting... didn't know that about Aver. I'd still be inclined to setup a static IP for the server though. Seems like it could create other headaches if you didn't... Hi bpzle. its hard to try to explain how to portforward and how to set up static ip on the forum. i dont understand why isp dont give static and some do for a small cost. but ginogag has a avermedia and he will find it alot easyer to log it though aver. this will only take him 5 mins and his external ip for logging on will be http://anyname.avers.com.tw:5550 http://www.cctvengineer.com/remoteaccessingsetup.pdf and avers dnns server reg site http://ddns.avers.com.tw/

hi this might help you. http://www.cctvengineer.com/remoteaccessingsetup.pdf
  12. port 8000 = port 80. sky will block you using this for you cctv. i have this problem with sky all the time. on the dvr set your port to 5550. then go back into your netgear and portforward 192.168.0.10 to that port 5550. then use google and type myip. this will give you your external ip. you only use this when you are away from your home. to view from home in i/e >>http://192.168.0.10:5550 from any other computer>>http://yourip:5550
  13. it might be easyer to just put the dvr on the network. if you can tell us the make of your dvr then we can see if it is pos to do it that way. and it would not cost much.

you will neer to port forward your router. in firwall you need to add 5550 then assign it to the ip of your dvr. quick demo for you. http://www.wonderhowto.com/how-to/video/how-to-setup-basic-port-forwarding-for-a-verizon-fios-router-271560/

HI first dont load any software onto yopur laptop. the dvr will do that once you have a connection. on your dvr screen click setup and click network there you will see your dvr ip (local) make a note also you will see port if this is not 5550 then change it till it is. now log on to your router and portforward your dvr ip to 5550. restart everything and that sould be it. to log on from your local network this will be done by using your local ip. http://yourip:5550 from another area you will need to know your external ip. go to google and enter my ip. make a note of the ip and use that when away from your network http://yourexternalip:5550.

    confused

with rg59 you do not need the baluns. just remove them and connect your cameras with standard bnc. then see if your footage is ok.
