suky replied to wozzzzza's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Can you show more sepcifications of this video balun, for there are many types? such as: whether it supports video, audio and power transceive; transmission distance as you need; DC loop resistance..... more specifications, more advices... -
For good effect, you can install the DVR inside the ceiling. My friend has down that before, sounds good!
-
For selecting DVR, you need to take these features into account: 1. operation system: Linux will be fine 2. video compression format: H.264 3. Record /display resolution: 30fps 4. record mode....

security footage is usually in a proprietary format until exported from the unit as an avi or other standard video. you may need to watch that with the original security software.

Anyone know where to find cheap cameras?
suky replied to tweety2005678's topic in General Digital Discussion
You often pay what you get. What's your requirements for cameras? The price depends on its quality and fuctions! -
A few questions: 1. should I have a dedicated in-house PC (with camera software) that I access from the web or is the camera software loaded on the PC I carry with me? The latter may bring you more convenience; 2. will there be problems later adding the PTZ and will I need separate software for the PTZ; different from the camera software? If you have a DVR, it can support PTZ as well as IP camera; 3. A standalone DVR system is more stable than pc based system, personally speaking. Hope it helps!

I think you need pay more attention to these key features, when you choose a IP camera: Image sensor: most employ 1/4" CMOS IR night vision and visible distance depends on your need; compression format should be M-JPEG; Resolution: 640x480 (VGA) Hope it helps! -

suky replied to magohn's topic in General Digital Discussion
That's my suggestions, hope it helps! PC - What PC specs? Minimum System Requirement Intel Pentium 4 or Above Also Compatible to Some AMD Processors RAM: 512 MB or Above Video: ATI or nVidia Chipset DirectX 9.0 or Above MS Windows 2000, XP, Vista Camera - What Cameras (PTZ) and good night vision? night vision depends on the infrared leds, generally speaking, the more infrared lights, the longer visible distance, and the better night vision. What cables? there are many types, 50', 130', 100' 165'...it depends on the distance between your dvr or dvr card and your camera. Anything else? May be you need power supply. -
I guess you are searching a REAL TIME DVR that comes with doublex or triplex, that you can record and playback at the same time. But, to be frank, the network transmission takes time, a real "instant" playback remotely is not that easy.

Hello, welcome! Dubai, quite beautiful city...

You are welcome! Any help needed, please let me know...

Hello, Goodbie, If the cable ran a long way, it might consume more power and there should be a vieo signal loss via long distance transmission. Therefore, it did take a awful effect on the image quality. A video balun might be an active solution.

Hello, Magohn, I think your buget is enough for three quite good IP cameras... Here comes with common features: 10 Infrared LED, Automatic Operate in Dark Environment IR Night Vision up to 8m Pan & Tilt: 270° Left to Right, 120° Up to Down [/u]

Hello, Roger, If you require for 80 degree's viewing angle with 1/3" CCD, I think you need a 2.8mm Lens, for the camera's viewing angle is 81.2 degree, being with 2.8mm lens and 1/3" CCD. You can try this one, it is easy to use.. http://atvideo.com/Support/tlFOVCalc.htm

I think "quad" is talking about the channel's total frame rate. If the 4 CH DVR's display frame rate is 120fps, 120fps is quad; 30fps is each. May be I have a misunderstanding about your question.

May be you need to download a view software to view these files if you view via a pc, I am not sure. Hope it helps!

Actually, the specification is not bad, but if for home use, I think it is no need. The price is reasonable, but there is a doubt about its reliability.
