invisible Infra red led for cctv
Torpedo-Man replied to kevmac72's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
I have tested the camera using the light from a domestic IR remote control which nearly gives enough light. Can anyone suggest a 3mm or 5mm ir led and the correct resistor ? 1k should good the camera specs don`t give me the iR frequency response but it does react to a domestic ir remote control I believe just because the remote control's led is narrow angle and the ir led you got probably is wide angle which you may use the camera to find out.. hope my reply is good for you. -
So the major object is "tree" and tree is not that good response the ir especially 940nm, from the first of picture you can see ir reflect on some of colsely bush so I believe the ir is on. second picture seems no any good reflecting object on the front of camera the only thing I can see is small bush on the front of camera... so I will say you should use 850nm will be better for this application especially outdoor installation.

if camera switch to b/w that means ir will turns on because they both trigger by photocell which is on the ir ring, and the 940nm ir the best performance distance will approx around 25 to 30 feet, so if no object at front of camera the camera will barely see something only because even the same material of object will response different reflecting by 850nm and 940nm ir I will prefer to see the picture ..

The "blue screw" is photocell sensitive adjustment not "photocell brightness" if you have camera on your hand your may cover the photocell on the IR ring by electric tape and make sure if the motor is switch from the left side to right side(face to camera) if did switch that means camera it will see in the night.. if you wants test if 940nm ir workining or not the you may aim another ir sensitive camera to the camera you want to test then you will see the ir through the monitor,if you has only one camera you may cover the photocell by electric tape then put car license plate on the front of camera if the ir on you will see the different though the montitor

I believe they has some coating on the lens, because lots of lens from china they are using on the cmos camera so if you using to the regular lens on their camera you will see te image actually is kind of wash out
-
I should say they have "ir filter" attach on the ccd...
-
that image from wz15 actually there are two problem there 1. halo issue.. that caused by the donut around the lens is not complete attach with window so the ir sneak into the lens 2.poor image in the night shot wz15 is d/n camera the ir distance will reach around 40' but if there is no object on the front of camera it is really hard to see the whole landscape image.. but this is not the problem of camera this is because d/n camera use ir cut filter on the ccd they can't receive 100% ir in the night the only way to improve such d/n camera you need extra IR beside the camera they you may see better night shot in the night but is you can rid of the ir halo issue the image will improve least 20% good luck

this is general problem on those D/N camera the cut filter only block 60%(maybe more) IR form the visiable light that is why the colour is wash out.. the image above is the night time seems not enough IR or the cut filter block too many IR

The new IR Omega (Ω) LED reduce IR refelection from dome, it is pretty good dome camera with IR led http://www.extremecctv.com/products/uploads/mid_imgs/EX40MNX_web_med.jpg

did you try to adjust the iris level control? semms you have some strong light from the front of camera you might turn on the BLC if you can do that
