We have a client for whom we'd like to install a JK-DV on a gate door. The issue I'm having is the gate is rod iron and I'm not sure how to surface mount the JK-DV. The rails are 3.5" apart from one another. Any ideas? Many thanks

Time/Warner Basic (no box) and CCTV Combined-Still Possible?
winesmile posted a topic in System Design
I have a client where in is previous home he had his CCTV modulated so that he could view his cams on ch. 65, 67, 69, etc. and have the lower channel just basic cable without having to use a box. It worked great! Now, he's moved and they have DirecTV as their provider, but would like the same ability. He doesn't mind having T/W basic AND DTV, but my concern is that with all providers going digi this wont work (or at some point will stop working). I called T/W and they do have a "Basic Broadcast" package that does not require a box, but I'm not sure that's really the issue at this point. My set up is as follows: Cams to DVR via RG-59 Siamese Out of DVR to Channel Vision 4200ir (3) Out of 4200ir to Ant. input of TV via RG-6Q I was thinking of adding a dedicated DTV receiver to an available input of the 4200ir and then add a Channel Vision IR-4101 Coax Adapter with IR at each monitor location. Then the client would turn his TV to channel 83 to view DTV and using the DTV remote he could then control via IR what DTV channel is being modulated to Ch. 83. Sounds good, but I'm wondering if there's a way of doing this so that two remotes are not involved. I know it sounds trivial, but they used to be able to use just the one TV remote to select what basic channel they wanted as well as what camera.... Any suggestions are welcome. -

We're doing a job where we are going to house a security DVR, 2 RF modulators, and a power supply in a semi-finished attic... The client is a "little" over-protective and wants it all housed in a locking rack of some kind. The monitor can be out in the open. I'm thinking of using a Middle Atlantic DVR lockbox (DBLX). Wall-mounted with the monitor and mouse on top. Problem is the RF mods and power supply wont fit. Anybody have a suggestion for a rack product (DVR can be shelf mounted) that will house the whole system as well as properly ventilate? Thanks!

How best to connect my MacBook Pro with a Speco VGA DVR connect?? Sorry, it's late....

Have a look at the OP I emailed the pix to myself.

Sorry. What's the best way to post pix?

I need to place a camera to cover the front door for security coverage (not to see who's ringing the front door). The issue is the masonry and running RD-59/combo - best to run up through the attic. My concern is placing the camera to high and not getting quality coverage.... And too low will look bad... I typically use Speco or Everfocus these days. Thoughts??

By quad I mean four cam pics on one screen. 2x2

I have 6 cameras in my current cctv system. I plan on buying a new Everfocus 8 Ch. DVR and an additional Channel Vision E4200ir (I'll have 2). I'm removing from my current system the duplex multiplexer. My current set up allows me to view each individual camera on its own TV channel in addition to a 4 camera split on one channel. If I remove the multiplexer will I still be able to view the quad on its own channel?

I'm replacing a Everfocus EDSR4000H with an 8 channel DVR. I was looking at the ECOR8F250, but it does not work via remote with Mac computers. I found the Speco DVR8TL160 that does work with Mac. My main needs are pc/mac compatibility Ability to view screens in different split screen configs Ability to control individual cam picture settings Any of you have thoughts on these or perhaps other DVR manufacturers?

I have the Speco cammic and it does need power. Since I'm pulling RG-59 siamese I'm wondering if I can use that video (pull another along side what we're using for the camera) for the audio.

that will work with the everfocus?

Soundy, I've got another one for ya! I need to add audio up in the baby's room (for monitor only - no need to record the audio). I plan to put it up by the Speco camera. What are you thoughts on the best way to set the audio up? I know Channel Vision and Speco make a mic, but they're both a bit clueless on how to connect and power it. Thanks again for all your help.

Soundy, What would be the best way to get the PIP like you discussed above on a display?
