Now that is Gross! Especially since it was first hand experience. You just killed business for KFC in all of New York for anyone who is on the forum there.
-
That is a good Idea. I keep seeing the same questions asked over and over in new threads. It would be more efficient and helpful to use already existing threads that have already discussed the topic somewhat. Then if their question is not found there the thread can be added to.
-
Oh yeah. If threads had to be split every time they got off topic it would keep you mods busy all the time. Not to mention the threads would lose their consistency. Sometime a thread will evolve for the better. It's not like someone is going to stop a thread and say hey lets start another thread on what were talking about now. One question leads to another, then that gets discussed. Most of the threads on here are like that. That is why it really pays to do searches on items your interested in because you never know where information you might be interested in located. Anyway, that's my late night opinion. Could change by morning.

I won't watch it. I saw a guy on a show the other day who was staying with some Vegans and he went crazy and went out into the field with a BB gun and shot some Rabbits so he could eat meat.

I want you guys to know that I have quite eating KFC because of those videos I saw. I will never think of KFC the same way again. Now I am eating steak. Nobody bring up any crap about cattle now. I am running out of food to eat.

sf1964, got my server up today after all. So I uploaded your two example files so people won't have to go through the FileFactory, which can be annoying. Why is the video fast?

Yep, that is what I meant to say. Sure. -
Why is the video fast?
Jasper replied to FlirtMarketing's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
It is because you are using Windows Media Player. It plays the file as if it was recorded at 30fps. You can export the video using Viewlog and use the Viewlog program to view the video at the proper speed. Or you can click on the save AVI button and then choose to save as an "EXE" file which will create and executable file that will open up Windows Media Player and play the file at the correct speed. Hope this helps. -

Sorry, looks like you emailed me a shortcut Link instead of the actual software? I got a .zig file less than 1k size. The MSN link I am getting a prompt to sign up. The Megaupload Link is been loading for over 10 minutes now. The DVR link worked and I downloaded and installed the client software. Just need to figure out how we can help you to upload your sample video files. You could always open up a Skype account, which is free. It lets you send files to another person without having any technical skills. You just need to setup an account and PM me or Rory and let us know what your skype name is. We can chat you through the rest, it allows chat also. http://www.skype.com/

Yeah, you should copy the files to the hard drive first as it is a touchy process as it is already. Then you can try it again and see what happens. Rory is in the same boat. He can't except big files through his email either. You can try FileFactory again. They have another area below the file upload, which is sending large files via email. You can try this. Try sending one to my email address. It will upload and then provide a download link. I can then try and see if it will play back on my computer before I upload it to the forum. I think I will get a hosting site soon though to avoid the FileFactory. Maybe I will take a look right now. Rory was going to have you ftp the files onto his computer. I don't know if you were prepared to do that or not?

It is simple. He loves what he does.

Yeah I know it sucks. Right when you get ready to click on something it throws an ad on top of what you need to click. Sometimes it is better than other times. "You Get What You Pay For" -

An armed robber comes in and shoots the clerk in the arm. Next he demands the customers gather all the money... it turns out they're in on the robbery. Guess what happens when they try to steal the video of the robbery?.... the real one was hidden in the back. http://www.securityguardtheater.com/video/iSGT_episode13.mp4 -
I was looking at the data sheet on that Samsung and they are advertising the Lux ratings with "sense up" turned up to the max for those ratings. The most accurate rating they show is .2 for color and .07 for BW and that is at sense up x 4. I love optical zooms though. I probably should not have mentioned the Covi as a zoom camera because really I just like the feature of how you can digital zoom into 3 other areas in the FOV of the camera and hightlight those areas for a closer look. Downloaded some demo clips and liked what I saw. I haven't seen any still shots or video fromt he Samsung so it is still a mystery.

Or Skype? If he has an account? I don't know why the FileFactory site isn't working for you? From the home page you just go down the page to where is says upload up to 500MB, click on that, it prompts you for the code on the screen, you check a box that you agree to the terms, then browse to the file you want to upload and click on and it uploads it and gives you a link.
-
Rory Are you happy now. How big of files will go through your email server Rory? And sf1964, can you send files larger than 10MB? Are they smaller? When you tried sending them to me I just got two 1KB files with nothing in them. Not enogh light for decent color though huh? Shame.

You mean for like using protocols for PTZ cameras or what? Whatcha talkin bout Willis! (Rory) Oh I see, tips on programming in general. I missed the link the first time around. I would brush up on my "C" before doing that and you know how this is going, nowhere. I am waiting for the "5th generation language" where you can talk into a compiler and tell it what you want it to do and it generates the code and compiles it for you. I wonder how many more years before that is avaiable?

Car Vandalism- See Pictures of house for suggestions
Jasper replied to surf1div1's topic in Security Cameras
Sounds like you are really determined to get these people on camera so you’re going to have to throw more money at the problem. In your first post you mentioned $1000 for 4 cameras. This could be adequate if you were not trying to solve this problem at the same time. You are going to need some strong IR to reach the van and illuminate that area enough to capture a person on video. So maybe what you should do is temporarily use your cameras to eliminate this problem then return them to their intended permanent mounting positions. Otherwise I see you are going to have to spend more money. Strong IR is not cheap. You will need a camera zoomed in on the van to allow ID of a persons face. Another camera or two with wide angle lens in order to see where they are coming from and going to, just as was described in the previous post. It sounds like you really just want to get these guys. Are you willing to pay the price though? You can get them, but it will cost you for the equipment. And if you do get them will there be retaliation if you prosecute them? Is the damage they are inflicting really worth it? These are all questions you have to ask yourself. Oh, the higher wattage bulb in your motion detector is probably not going to work as you would have to blind the drivers passing by in order to have strong enough light to illuminate the area accross the street? -
The intent was good, just the content was very basic. It was a good gesture. I'd like to see some advanced stuff; like the differences of each camera chip type described down to almost the molecular level. Really, anything more than what I don't know already, which is a lot. The more I learn, the more I realize I have much to learn. Of course that is always the case. Forever a student of learning.

That is funny. I am at the same exact site reading about it now. I am suprised you are getting such good low light results because when they quote the lux ratings for that camera I believe is was with an f1.4 lens. Actually not that suprised because after reviewing the specs again I can see with the f1.4 you can achieve a 0.14 lux for color and 0.06 for BW, so the F1.6 is still going to give you good color response, just won't go as low in B/W. If you end up moving the camera down like Copperman suggested repost a new picture and let us take a look at it.

Thanks. I will check it out.

You did a good job putting together a nice system. That scanning system is the one I was reffering to in my post above. Nice system. Did you use a fixed lens on this camera or a varifocal? What F-stop did you use? You said it makes it brighter than the scene actually is, that is why I am asking about the particular lens you are using. Curiosity.
