I knew that. Someone had to speak on behalf of the domes. Now that is out of the way. How about those box cameras.
-
Domes are vandal resistant. Shield camera from environment. Camera position can’t be disturbed. Less lens cleaning with a dome.

Will you email me a copy so I can try it out or post a link. Curious to see how this would work. -
Software that run in the background?????
Jasper replied to PINBALLNUT's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
She is probably more computer literate than he thinks and is reading his posts I can't recommend much because it seems like all my ideas are illegal apparently. And I certainty do not want to suggest anything illegal in a public forum. Rory, that program you wrote, would you have to put it in the startup folder? Then if the DVR has a splash screen, how are you going to get around that? -

You mean you can do that. The majority of people are not programmers. I do hope you can catch her. The TV drowned out the recording of the phone? You think she might be on to you? And knew to turn up the volume of the TV? -

Well scratch the phone recording idea then. Are you primarily trying to collect evidence for a court of law or just to present her with the proof that you know? Aslo won't there be a potential interference problem of putting the wireless receivers inside the computer case? -
do you think geo 8.0 will be ready in a couple of weeks
Jasper replied to jeromephone's topic in Geovision
Couple of weeks. I would bet against it. Hope I am wrong. Maybe some beta testers can give their opinion? -

How do you think she is cheating? You can buy a cheap phone monitoring device from Radio Shack and record her phone calls while your out of the apartment. (This is for educational purposes only and not a suggestion to break any law. Please check local laws in your area, blah, blah) Apparently you believe the cheating to be occuring in your place while your not home? Is she using the computer to communicate with this person? You can using key logging software to find out what is done on the computer. Maybe you should hire a Private Invesigator? http://www.cheaters.com/ Just some food for thought. -
Or works for the CIA, FBI or NSA Great imagination Thomas. Does your wife know about the two supermodels.
-
Nope. No confirmation from any source. We have to wait for them to return from their chineese new year unless someone else has confirmation from them. How about you Scott? Do you have any information in regards to this? Rory? Somebody?

Rename Version 7.1 to 8.0 Version 7.1 will be renamed to v8.0, due to more features incorporated in the original v7.1. The version 8.0 will present you with comprehensive and overwhelming video surveillance features you will ever expect from security surveillance functionality. The new version is expected to release within February. If it has overwhelming features, it just has to include that support. http://www.geovision.com.tw/upload/en/newsletter-0106.htm

I got the impression that a low lux spec quoted that low was not really true based upon that topic coming up in this thread. http://www.cctvforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=3228&highlight=lux+rating Samsung was established in 1938 by Byung-Chull Lee and started out trading in dried fish with China and making noodles for domestic consumption. Samsung Techwin was established in 1977 (as Samsung Precision Industry Co., Ltd.) I was around some time before 1977. And our ages combined we probably go back to 1938 when Samsung was trading fish and noodles. Maybe somebody one day will post some pictures of this camera so I can believe. As you know you were asked in another thread and you gave the following answer: http://www.cctvforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=4049&highlight= I’m not knocking the camera in any way. I haven’t seen it perform. Maybe 200MPH will post some for us to see finally.

It says true Day/Night, but I missed seeing the IR filter? Does it have one?

Sorry. That happens sometimes.

Hey I don't know. He could be asking you for all I know. Hey you talking to me. I am the only one posting here.

That microphone you got from Radio Shack has been discontinued. I can't find any specs on it. You should be looking for the highest +db gain mic you can find for your money. I think you will be wasting your time with that mic tonight unless you are using a amp to boost the gain. Like +40db to +120db gain.
-
You’re definitely going to need an amplified microphone for best results. Big, Big difference. Good link for construciton info. Another Home Made Parabolic Mic (stereo) http://www.solorb.com/elect/misc/bige/ another link: http://www.bio.umass.edu/biology/kunkel/gjk/microphone.htm How about a picture of what you have created so far? It would be interesting. What pre-amp are you using?
-
If you are going to use that microphone maybe you should elminate the dish? It is another omnidirectional mic. My understanding is that you should use a directional microphone and the dish will collect the surrounding sounds and focus the sound to the center of the dish where a directional mircrophone will work best. You probably have researched this more than I have by now? Isn't that microphone kind of defeating the purpose of the parabolic dish?

Me. A GV-1240-8. W/O autofocus.

Are those cameras all using fixed lenses? I can't get over how clear those photos are. If those are varifocal, man you can focus. Daylight helps also.

Post some pictures when you get it up and operating. Real curious to see that .002 low lux rated camera in action. From what I hear that number isn't based in reality.

30fps at d1 res(740x480) record for all 16ch pc impossible!
Jasper replied to griffonsystems's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
You would still be limited by the data transfer rate of the hard drive even if it connected directly to the motherboard. Hard drives just don’t transfer data fast enough yet to keep up with large amounts of data. If it was short bursts of data, buffering could help, but with continous flow of video that is not really an option. You can use RAID to dramatically increase your ability to write out data faster to the hard drives though. Just noticed: 740x480, shouldn't that be 720x480? -

Thomas explained that real well. The PCI bus is one bottleneck, but the hard drive needs to be able to write that fast as well. You would need a RAID arrary in order to write information at the full speed of the PCI BUS. The newest 10k Raptor hard drives are doing around 76MBps (they claim 84) while the PCI BUS can handle 133MBps across the 32 bit data path. That is why the newer PCI Express BUS is going to really help with pushing more data across the BUS. And the wider data path a SATA connection offers in combination with faster data transfer rates of newer hard drives coming to market should eliminate this problem all together. -
Your persistent. That's good. You'll know a lot about parabolic microphones before this is all over.
