Leave the PC case open when you try changing slots. Because at this point you might want to try the card in another PC, just to make sure the card isn’t bad? Or having some other type of issue with the current system? Have you had this card working previously?
-
Have you tried relocating the GEO card to another available PCI slot? Sometimes I have done this with hardware that wasn’t working and it worked in a different PCI slot.
-
I will start a new thread. Thanks. ________________________________________ The Geo software is the only thing that locks up on you right? Other software on the system works ok? No other problems going on with the system you forgot to mention?
-
I am about ready to let you do that with me. I can't get this Remote Playback to work, dogone it. _____________________________________________________ Have you gone into the device manager to make sure the hardware is working properly and that there are not conflicts?
-
Is the PC with the GEO free of all other software other than the GEO and any other necessary software? The fewer programs on the system other than the GEO stuff the better. You can try disabling Norton or remove it entirely, it can wreak havoc. Sounds like you may have a software conflict. You need to eliminate all unnecessary software before proceeding. Backup your system before doing that though.

That is pitiful.

The new video card you just got is a good one. So now that issue is eliminated. Have you tried? Reinstalling the software? Made sure all the GEO software is the same version? Anybody know about the motherboard?

I was testing a camera pointed out my window one day when I saw a young boy and girl with shovels in their hands. I kept watching in disbelief as I saw what appeared to be them digging in my front yard. After realizing that they were really digging up my parkway I went out and asked them what the heck they were doing. The little boy told me that I didn’t own the property in front of my house so he could dig it up. I asked him where he got that idea. I guess he overheard a parent saying that technically the parkway belongs to the city. I sent them home with their shovels telling them to go dig in front of their house.

Nice demo. I like demos. Those guys are flying on those forklifts. Of course that's normal!

realtime motion notification over ip: I give up *help*

Yeah there is. For home security you can get a small Chihuahua like I have that doesn’t eat much or do the other thing much either. And he lets me know if anyone/s around. Plus if I am gone ten minutes he acts like I’m publishers clearing house with a check for ten million dollars for him. Than there are those $15 dollar wireless enunciators you can get to let you know someone is around. Or you can go really cheap and just buy the window stickers that say you have video surveillance. But seriously you’re right. The more security that is needed, the more money, plain and simple. -
Looks good. Maybe some of the other people that said it didn't work, logged on like I did and was waiting for something to happen, so they thought it didn't work.
-
I couldn’t get it to work. The initial page load was extremely slow. Installed the software. Tried to logging in with both logons, nothing? No message of any kind to let you know what was the problem.
-
Thats good. I am sure they will be glad to hear that.

That is a pretty low budget to accomplish what you want to do. You might be able to do it by using a stand alone DVR? You would probably have to use cheap OEM cameras as well. And IR illuminators which would be needed to make a scene visible in total darkness costs a considerable amount of money. Someone with experience with an inexpensive DVR should be able to give you a better idea. Have you read through the forum thoroughly? There are numerous posts regarding all sorts of DVR’s and cameras.

realtime motion notification over ip: I give up *help*
Jasper replied to xl's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
Yes that is correct. GeoVison CenterV software will allow motion events to trigger a log entry with the date and time of the motion detected. In addition a video attachment can be sent for review. The length of the video and the interval of how often an attachment is sent are adjustable as well. A live picture of the camera can be seen also, which can also stay on for just the length of the motion or stay on all the time. Depending on your bandwidth you would configure the software appropriately. -
Yeah, that is funny. I heard a car alarm say something like that across the street from my house. I thought there was some type of police action going on. It wasn’t until I went out there and heard it repeat itself that I knew what the heck was going on. I like that car I see on cops that when the car thief gets in the car and starts zooming off the car locks them inside, disables the car and starts playing the Bad Boys theme on the radio. It is hilarious too see the faces of these idiots that get caught this way.

Dare I ask what the bird sound is for?

I am not familiar with kodicom 4.10, but if it is a card inside a computer you should be able to expand as much as your budget allows. Unless of course there is some type of limitation of some kind to prevent the use of additional hard disk space. But if that is not the case you can fill the computer up and daisy chain up to 63 external FireWire Hard Drives. Or use USB 2.0 for external drives. Do you know if your Kodicom has support for automatic progressive recording from one hard disk to the next as they become full? Someone here knows if you don’t. Sorry I don’t, but I tried to help a little.

I didn't want the sounds, but the fallen I can't get up was funny I wanted to see the video, which Luxry1 provided a link to, thanks. Also wanted SpyTown to be aware they got a bad link so they can fix it. They provide us with information, so we can provide them with some back. The lady in the video has her voice recorded so calmly. I would be saying "Somebody is at the back Patio!!!, Get your Gun!" and have an amplified external speaker so the person could hear it. Dont think it has an external output jack though? (Actually it does!) Nice system.

This link: http://www.spytowne.com/sounds/residential.asx on this page: http://spytown.com/voalvasywi1s.html did not work for me? It was supposed to be a video demonstration? I just get this: Cross Point Industries 2003 Cross Point Industries, Inc.

Thanks for the remote assistance Rory. You were so fast it looked like a remote script was executing. I barely saw my cursor! Not bad for a guy who has been up all night.
-
Did you get my email? I have that program installed and running as a server.

I have Real VNC Enterprise Editon.
-
Is that the name of the Product? Who Makes it?
-
I checked the firewall already. I don't use the crappy one that comes with windows. I use Sygate firewall. I can disable that and if you tell me what the heck VNC is I can figure out what I am supposed to do to let you log on. Probably missed something in the configuration?
