Here's a fun one.....what have you caught on camera?
tip_ex replied to ocdchris's topic in General Digital Discussion
I got 2 cops and a German shepherd in my backyard, looking for somebody. they stayed there for a minute and then left. The dog jumped over the fence. -
Great, thanks for the info. Dennis 473 means 47KΩ (47,000 Ohms)- the shorthand breaks down as the first two digits being the value, and the last digit is the multiplier (number of zeros following the value).

American Dynamics EDVR and ADTT16E issue
tip_ex replied to Spyforhire's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
You have to make sure that the version are at least : Flash PROM version is F 0701-2834-0202 EEPROM Version is: E 0701-2833-0103 And make sure the ADTT16E is set up as Triplex. Best regards, -
It's impossible to integrate an ADTT16E dome controller to another system. It will only work with an Intellex machine. Your best bet would be to remove the ADTT16E, and use a different protocol such as 422, or Pelco D if your camera is an Ultra 6, (latest firmware only), ultra 7 and Ultra 8 unless

Integrating American Dynamics and Pelco
tip_ex replied to Sejjiboy's topic in Video Transmission/Control Devices
I believe that, Like valboosky said, the best option is the USB-485 from Kantech. Install the handlers from AD's website, then you will daisy chain the cameras. -

American Dynamics Intellex dvms, viewing over network.
tip_ex replied to Jibbeh's topic in General Analog CCTV Discussion
You are partially correct. In order to view an older Intellex (4.0 and lower), the Browser Client Software needs to be installed on a dedicated computer that will act as webserver. Then your IE will be able to connect to an old Intellex. Note: Some setup can't upgrade from 4.0 to 4.1 due to access control integration. So Browser Client is the solution. -
Hello Pinky. I just sent you an e-mail for the answer on your issue. Ciao.

Hi! I am not sure of what version you have. 2.5x and lower are Win98/ 2.6 is Windows 2000. Check on that first. Then it will depend. Its more of the limitation of the OS. Regards,

Intellex control of Pelco CM6800
tip_ex replied to lpdog's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Hi! Yes it can be done. You need to connect a Null modem serial cable between the COM port of the Intellex and the COM1 of your Matrix. That's it. Regards, -

Hi! I am not sure if you fixed your issue already or not. But before you can go anywhere else, you will need to fix the licensing issue. After you enter all information, read the product code closely. something like D60030D-048 Now, the D, can be S, D, P. here are the option you will need to chose on the right side, according to that code. S = Smart, Export D = Smart, Export, remote P = Smart, Export, Remote, Data. restarting issue may be a lot of things, amongst: - bad fan on cpu - database corruption on the data drives. - windows corruption. - bad ground coming from one of your camera. Hope this helped -
i will try option 2 and seee how that goes. for option 1 do i get this program from the intellex site ? and where do i install it ? on the dvr or on my home pc? How do you get the recoerded info through network connection? With each Intellex you purchase, you have 1 free license for the Network Client software. If you lost the CD, or the previous owner did not give it to you, there is nothing you can do, but buy a new license from them. well i do not have a server and i do not know how to make the dvr act as a server... I will need further help on that. your viewer's machine (desktop, laptop), not the Intellex, will act as server well i am going to use the coper rg58. i noticed somthing the other day when i view 4 camera setup on the screen the picture is clear but when i switch to singal camera then it gets slotchy, you can see the pixels. do you think that i need to update the drivers for the moniter? CCTV recommend cable is RG6, or 59. The RG58 has an impedance of: 50 Ω, and the video signal on the Intellex is 75 Ω. Its two complete different application. It may work, and may give you some weird behaviour. there is no other way? ho do they do it at apartment buildings where you can see the front door csmera on one of the higher channels with your tv cable. No, I don't know if there is another way, Thats the only one I know. I believe you are talking about PiP = picture in picture. That is in my knowledge, a feature of the monitor, that supports multiple inputs, and able to show a particular channel in the any corner.

Hello Shawn305. Browser Client can be downloaded on their website - Support - Software Downloads. - Browser Client. This will require you to have a server. If you do not have one, you can use your machine to act as a server. I don't think the height is in the way here. Depending on the cables you're going to use tough. It's more about what you see as picture from the camera. if you want to connect the Intellex to your TV, you have several options, but it will require you to have a BNC to RCA adapter from Radio Shack. To export a clip, in your situation, you have 2 options. 1 - Install Network Client on a computer. 2 - If the unit has USB connection, get a USB flashdrive that has WIN98 drivers (2Gig and less, 1 Gig is better), that you will install from the floppy disk drive (if its still working), or through network connection.

I too, prefer DVR cards. If something dies, you replace that part, end of the story. )power supply, hard drive, capture card). And it is easily upgradable. If you have only 4 inputs, you can install up to 4 DVR cards, for a total of 16 inputs. yeah!! In a dedicated DVR, if the power supply dies, you replace the whole DVR (most of them are like that... only some have an external power supply). In other words, Any issue with a dedicated DVR, you have to replace it. Ciao!

Hi! The motherboard you have is a Easton motherboard. Right now, you have Intellex version 2.5.9 This is the lates version in the Windows 98 world. You will be able to upgrade to Intellex version 2.6 (Windows 2000). But you will need to verify if your system meets windows 2000 requirements, and you also need to buy the upgrade kit RDVUPG26. For the remote viewing capabilities, with each Intellex machine, you have a license for the Network client software, witch will allow you to view your camera remotely and manage the intellex remotely as well. If you don't have it, or lost it, you will need to purchase version 4.20 (the latest one) You can also install Browser Client on a server, that will allow you to connect to your Intellex from Internet Explorer. no need to get the Network Client software. Only viewing capabilities tough. Hope this helped you!
