looking at replacing our analogue camera setup with a HD IP setup. I have a Samsung SNC-B2315 and have it set to upload images to a server via FTP every 15 seconds. this feature works ok apart from the fact that the image it uploads is not completely uploaded, see attached. I have set it to 30 seconds thinking that it might be doing it too fast to keep up and same thing. anyone know how to fix this??

In australia, looking at getting a box IP CCTV Camera that is NTSC and the specs say it runs on 24V AC 60Hz and a PAL camera runs on 50Hz. if I run this NTSC camera on 24v at 50Hz will there be any issues with the image stability or anything?? this NTSC camera also runs on 12vDC, if there is an issue with the 50Hz AC supply would it run ok on the DC power? will it also affect any image quality running on DC compared to AC?? is there anything else I need to be aware of?

I want to put a cctv IP camera on my roof top to take images of the city and mountains and weather. what would be a good camera to do this?? about 4mm lens be right?? can you recommend an IP camera that would be suitable?? I don't want to spend too much. It will be exposed to weather, I can build a container for it if necessary, I will any way to protect it from the rain and heat a bit more.

this is a job on the cheap, just a mate of mine as a couple of IP cameras he don't want any more he said I can have cheap, but don't want to spend on a new DVR or other stuff. will just wait until some second hand decent analogue cameras come up somewhere

I have a setup of older cameras and DVR, 12VDC and BNC connectors to cameras that plug in. I can get hold of some IP cameras that I can install on this setup, but the wiring is very hard to replace with network cable and wondering if it is possible to retrofit an IP camera in place of the old analogue ones to make it fit these BNC connections hanging out the wall?? all the wiring I think has been put in when the building was constructed. the DVR will be the same, still analogue with bnc connections.

cost out weighs the benefits I think. will forget ip cameras and get an analogue one when I find one second hand. thanks.

ive bought heaps of power/audio/video baluns from china for like $5/pair and have been great, went down to the local CCTV shop and he said he could sell some to me cheap if I bought a camera, I asked how much is cheap, he said $29 a pair, they are normally $59/pair he said. same thing with camera, $300 camera I can get for $80 from china. only thing different is the name of it, a generic camera rebranded. another one, a GPS unit http://www.ozspy.com.au/gps-tracking/mini-gps-tracker-with-audio I got mine direct from the real manufacturer in china for $90 delivered, they want $270.

whats the difference between a box camera and a dome camera?? is anyone one more reliable than the other?? how to choose what one to use??

still dont know what camera to get. i like the box ones, never had any problems with them, dome ones i am a bit sceptical of now as i have always had lots of them fail for some reason.

I have a pool area 40m long from where the camera will be mounted and 30m across. I want to be able to get a good analogue day/night camera 24VAC around 560TVL atleast that will see OK at day and night in pitch dark with the aid of infrared LEDS i will place around the area to illuminate the place for the camera. The camera will be outside and exposed to the elements but under a small cover, but will get splashed by heavy rain when windy. I dont know what type of camera to get, anyone recommend a decent one they ahve had a good experience with in similar situations. whether a dome or a box type camera in a container, i dont know whats best, help me out a bit. Needs to be reasonably secure so it doesnt get flogged in seconds.
