I dont know why you guys have so many questions about PCI based DVR boards. just install the driver first, put in the Board in the PCI slot, install the DVR board, and you can see the videos in the monitoring window. DVR board has been very cheap already. When we talk about DVR board, mostly ,we mean it's the encoding card. it hardware compress the video streams captured by the camera. also, in the computer, we can also install the hardware decoding card, it decompresses the video siginal and it outputs to Monitors. the decoding board could be used for TV walls. so for example, we have one eight channel DVR board and one -channel hardware decoding board. in City A, we installed the dvr board and have 8 channel real time D1 resolution monitoring,, in City B, we need to view one channe's video in a TV (wide screen, 64 inches), so we just use the hardware decoding board in City B.

the video quality is snowy..........i think you need to spend maybe 50 bucks to get a better IR enabled D&N Camera.

better find some supplier with good experiece in system intergration . the technical knowledge is very important for starting the business.

1) please increase the power supply of the PC 2) if the 8 channels system uses two 4 channels board, you may try to only use one board and see whether the pc can be rebooted.

if you buy the new board, maybe the SDK of the new board is not supported by the old software. the remote dvr software need to be compatible with your new board, did you ask for a remote software upgrading?

well, suppose you have two embedded DVRs, and they are located in a Local Lan, and you can run one central monitoring software(one management software) on one PC which is located in the same lan, add the IP address of that two DVRs in the central monitoring software, then you can view the 8 channels on one single computer. totally you maybe can view 32 video's in one computer . with the help of video matrix,,your single computer can connect with 128 channels videos,, well, you need to view the videos in a round robin way... each time displaying 32 channels, 8 channels...whatever you like...

did you try ping that computer installed the DVR?

when the car is racing, there is a huge vibrations, the laptop would fail in the HDD part. people need to set up suspension system with the HDD installed in the laptop. the perfect solution woud be using a mobile DVR recorder which is specially designed for the video recording in a racing car. when the ignition of the car is on, the video starts recording.

The H.264 video encoding/decoding standard has been admitted that it is an advanced technology,but it's really not the first-choice video compression standard,especially when it's adopted in the CCTV product application(DVR board,Network video server,etc), it has some defects. The H.264 Video encoding/decoding standard is adopted in the MPEG-4 part 10 standard, that means, H.264 only belongs to the part 10 of MPEG-4. In anothe words, H.264 doesn't exceed the MPEG-4 standard. It's incorrect when people say H.264 has the bettern video transmisstion quality than MPEG-4. Also,it doesn't make sense when people say MPEG-4 will migrate to H.264 ===>so the key point is to see, whether the video transmission flow is reduced to a certain low range, whether the video quality is good, whether the video is played in real time...

have you solved that problem of the protocol? maybe you can find a speed dome manufacture to ask them use the biphase protocol? so that you don't need to find a convertor solution.

when you are using the pc , the ip address changes each time you logs on to the Internet. there is a solution which needs a IP address mapping. there is some free DNS mapping service companies. but you need to run a small client on your pc. you need to register a free domain on that service company.such as you register the name http://mydvr101.iiiii123net.com when you try to review the pc based dvr remotely , you enter the name of http://mydvr101.iiii123net.com, the client software trys to get the http://mydvr101.iiii123net.com, the third party redirect your remote software to visit the actual PC address ( the IP address is reported to the service company each time it connects to the internet). the above solution resolves the dynamic IP address problem. but you need to run a small client mappy the ip address on your PC DVR.

i think there are no problem with the computer you are using. the problem is the dvr software and the video processing in the software. the usb DVR is not using some good video processor and the video processing is quite not very good. could you try to just use one camera instead of four all in once? then increase the number of the cameras you use, if when you are running one or two cameras, the video are ok, then, it's only the problem with the hardware cost of the USB DVR. most of the USB DVR uses very cheap video processing chips.

if you are using some good hardware compression board, on that board, one single chip would deal with maybe 2 channels video..the would use motorola,philipps or TI microprocessor chips...which would increast the cost of the board. i have used some boards which can do 8 channels simultaneous monitoring and all the videos look just fine. never had such problem.

what kind of dvr software are you using? and , mostly the video could be recovered. but we need to more details and do you still have that problem?

when you are using the ptz to do the monitoring, if you find something is monving and very suspicious, so you need to control the ptz to follow the object (maybe a car or a dog )manually, i have the intelligent speed dome,when you see one object and want to track it, just double click on the object and the speed dome just tracks it down...i have demo videos for your reference.

so you are able to get the dvr software to run the board? it's software compression with not very good video quality .

i am only interested in the hardware video compression boards. the video could be recorded in D1 resolution. and while transmitting the video over the internet, you can adjust the video to be in a lower resolution .i have sent you a short message for your interest. there are a couple of dvr boards which you would like to take a look at.

some dvr software needs a special dongle plugged in the com port of the computer to enable the functioning of the dvr software.... but i don't think the board we are talking about needs such kind of dongle.

you can choose a file to upload as attachment when you are replying the message.

it would be quite not making sense if people buy a card but didn't have software. without software, what can this card possibly be used? if you buy 100 card, and you have the SDK of the boards, people would like to integrate the boards with their existing DVR system.

well, it would is a bad thing to copy the other's ideas or designs. but there is one thing i am happy to say that, according to the DVR boards, my friend who is a senior DVR board software developer, told me that, the algorithem embedded in the H.264/MPEG4 board belongs to their own company.
