Oh I forgot COP-USA has something like it. Wonder how good it is.

Should include door strikes and mag locks etc. Thats what most of us probably install anyway. I have only seen a biometric system in Minority Report anyway.

I know what you mean. Of the the reason I like the VPON. Don't even have to be a programmer, just a web designer. Thinking about setting up a "digitronic network" where the customers do not need a static IP since the VPON's dynamic IP function is great.( sends the IP address every 10 min to a DDNS. Will get the 3 unit rack cases, lable it myself somhow and hopefully install a ton of them. It's all about marketing. Still learning that part.

A very good idea. CCTV and access goes hand in hand. Got my vote!

http://www.apple.com/mpeg4/h264faq.html Wonder when it will be a standard in DVR's?

We put over 50 D-Links DI-604, and never a problem. I'll usually find them for around $30 on the web. Had problems with Linksys losing their port forwarding settings.

Sure, They just do not seem to list all avalible cameras on their site, or otherwise the distrubitor has old info. How is KT & C cameras anyway. Are they pretty good. Mean for low budget, not the high end stuff.

"Night Vision Camera with Built In Varifocal The KPC-N600H camera is KT&C's latest answer to the rapidly growing demands of the security industry. The N600H has integrated the top grade high resolution Sony 1/3" Superhad CCD with a precision aspheric varifocal auto iris lens (3.8-9.5mm or 2.5-6.0mm) to achieve 520 TV lines of sharp image. When combined with its mechanical day & night function, CDS sensor, and 18 IR LEDs, the N600H can see 60 FEET in complete darkness". When combined with its mechanical day & night function, Thought that meant a mechanical IR, maybe I an wrong. Gotto chech the manufactuare site

Sony Superhad, Varifocal, asperic lense, mechanical IR cut filter, Auto Iris. Never tried it, but those specs are exactly what I would want from an IR bullet camera. And from $199! Pro Video has one which the same specs more or less which is graet http://www.spytown.com/spcvcodaweca.html

http://nuvico.com/product/new.html New domes: Wide Dynamic, Pixim chip based??? Day/Night with Mechanical IR cut filter 3 axis adjustment, Thank You!! Normal or Vandal/Weather proof version of all of them.
-
Who makes the ambush Domes? Rory, did you get any info from the seller of the Natadel DVR?
-
Both AVE and TVS just overlay text over the image, no search. A little useless actually. Guess it is a ditterent.
-
http://www.americanvideoequipment.com/ Works alot better then the TVS stuff. Ever since Honeywell bought up TVS, the company has been terrible. AVE has alot better tech support. Alex is the main guy there.

Installed 12 GE Ultra View Cameras in a apartment building today, and all the cameras are only showing B/W exept 1. Called GE, waited for 30 min to get someone on the line, and the guy tells me there might be a power problem. Told me that the color is the first thing that goes if there is not enought/bad power. He told me that the Ultra View needs 350 mA at 12 V DC and 200 mA at 24 V AC. Fair enough, so i plug one of the cameras directly in to a 1500 mA 12 VDC transformer. Still B/W. Any one else had problems with these cameras? Any ideas for a fix.
-
Spoke to Altronix, and according to them most of GE's cameras do not have a built in "transformer" (do not exactly remember what they said but thought it was transformer), so the power supply needs to have individually isolated channels. Also needs to be a class 2 transformer. Class 2= regulated or...??? Picking one up tomorrow to put in. Will post the result.

Tameron 3-8mm F 1:00 RG-59. Still does it with just the testmonitor. Most be the power for some reason. Can't be 10 faulty cameras. Was metering the current in series with the camera and the meter showed 18 mA. A little rusty in the theory department, but thought that was kind of low. Maybe I am doing it wrong since it is AC???
-
Tried resetting them, running them directly to my test monitor. Remember you had a problem with one of them. That kind of problem was it? Apperantly they are really sensitive to the power source. What kind of transformers have you been using? Thinking about getting 2 16 channels Altronix 24 V AC wallmounts with regulated and individually islolated channels. Wonder if I got a deffective batch or something Any feedback would be highly appreiated Thanks, Fredrik

PS. The Ultra does not switch to B/W ala' Day/Night type camera. Strictly color all the time.
