http://www.ikegami.com/java/tab/contact2002.html Make sure you call them directly and not some 3:rd party dealer
-
Actually, I called their outlet in Los Angeles to inquire about getting dealer pricing. They first quoted me $600 something. Told them about the spytown deal, and suddenly the price was cut in half. http://www.ikegami.com/cb/f_cctv_rep.html Just mentation the spytown deal. I asume you have a resale license, and if they can buy it cheaper from Ikegami to be able to sell it for $450, so should you.

Other Wide Dynamic cameras. The way the camera works seem to be quite different then other WD.

Networking and 1 channel audio. Even alarm inputs. Also has email capibility so combined with the alarm inputs, so it will take 1 snapshot of the video and email it anywhere. Runs directly on 110 V. Big fan in the back for the HD. Made in Japan. Looks 5 times more expenive then the Argus DVR. Will set up the 2:nd one at home and really learn it.

Picked up a couple of them and put one in yesterday. The unit looks like a $1000 dvr, solid, in metal and heavy. Very Nice. Very user friendly in terms of playback and recording etc. Duplex function and built in Ethernet. Does not seem to have motion and adjustment for cameras ( color, contrast etc.) A little tricky to program in the first place. Has 3 levels of compression and the A level looks great. Mjpeg so not as good as wavelet in highest quality but close. Got 2 so i am settig up the 2;nd one to play around with and really learn it. Will probably be using this one from now on. Does it have every thing you want? No, but for $400 it is a pretty good deal. Will be using it for the donut shops. The times I put in a AvTEch DVR I feel a little stupid because the dvr;s look like something you pick up from radio shack for $99. This one looks great and works great.

Is there a wide dynamic camera with ExView ccd?
-
Like to check out the footage. Please send them to : service@digitronic.us Thanks

It's pretty well lit garage. The cameras would be facing the gates / sunlight. Maybe a Mintron W-1 would be better. http://mintron.com/HTM/Default_A.htm

Putting in 12 cameras in a parking garage with back light problems, and was thinking of GE's ultraview camera. How is the camera, compared to other wide dynamic cameras?

This one looks interesting. Uses wavelet, networked, some kind of surge protector built in and have a 9 channel version coming out. E mailed them to find out if anyone has them here in US. Like o try one.

You got to make your own cable. No big deal. Only 2 wires needed. The connectors come with the DVR and the web server. Reguar 2 conductor solid alarm wire will do. You soldering skills got to be good though. Then you got to set the baud rate correctly in the DVR and the server, and there is one other setting. ID setting i think. Easier to make a few cables before hand and try it out. I think the idea is great. A web server that controls the dvr remotely. Have you had any problems with the 9 channel DVR? Heard about power supply problem from someone here. Like to start putting them in if they are relible.

I like the AVTech Web server, but how do you set it up with a dynamic IP. I tried it with www.dyndns.org but could not get it to work. Used one of the routers the recommended (D-Link DI-604) but no use. Otherwise it streams nice, and less garbage in the GUI. One thing whitch is pretty cool with the Av Tech one is that you can control the AV Tech DVR remotely if you add a RS-232 cabel between the web server and the dvr. In that way you can set the streaming quality level independent from the recording quality level and get the beat of both worlds.

This is the demo I ment. http://digitronic.us/pages/Cameraframeset/UntitledFrameset-18.html It's not a Active X plug you need. It's the H.263 plug first and formost

Has any one tried this one. Stand alone w/ cd-r for $1300, wavelet and built in web server. Wonder who makes it origionally. http://www.specotech.com/cart/products/productDetails.asp?prodid=718 Any thougths about wavelet verses Mpeg-4?

Has anyone tried this one. Demo looks pretty good. Streams well. Any opinions http://www.neon-usa.com/demo/demo.htm

Hunt has the same DVR with slightly differnent interface. http://huntcctv.com/DVR.htm Does anyone know who the OEM is?

Don't really care about the software, as long as you can view the live video over the net. Is it dreadfully slow or...?
-
Rory, You said the remote software is no good. In what way? Slow frame rate, crashes, basic functions, or just looks cheap? I am mostly concerned with the frame rate. Don't really care about the other stuff, except freezes of course. I to used a bunch of Everfocus DVR's. Like wavelet better then MJpeg, like speco is using. Playback just looks alot better I think. Thanks for any insight, Fredrik

If you read the page correctly it actually tells that you don't have to download the plug in, but you get a better frame rate if you do. It's also safe to download and install the plug-in. We are in the business of installing camera systems, not spreading internet viruses. The bluenet server will probably work good for you. Works with staic or dynamic IP and no plug in is needed.

http://www.aegismicro.com/navigation/indexprodvp200.htm 6 Channel web server $500 Great streaming. We have a demo on our site. http://www.bluenetvideo.com/ip.htm Works with dynamic IP through therir own DNS server

legality of video recording with sound in the USA

Maybe use a regular pelco type bracket and mount it upside down.

Deponds the budget for the system. On the "donut shop" style jobs we usally put in a 13" TV with built in VCR ($99) for backup and on the "real" jobs we put in CCTV monitors. If the budget only calls for $75 cameras, a hi res monitor is hardly going to make that much of a difference.

It's a Av Tech DVR http://www.avtech.com.tw/english/product_13_773.htm See Tread: Can someone identify this DVR? Anyone use Intelicam dvmr units? Lots of opinions about Av TEch
