    Motherboard chipset compatibility

Thanks for the info, but my point is that motherbords with these old chpsets are getting to be old technology. I have client's with their own computers that want to add cards. I am also surprised that manufacturers are not upgrading the technology to work with newer OS and boards. There are a number of software cards that work fine with all the newer Intel chipsets and with Windows7. It would be nice if the hardware chipsets could be updated as well. Again, thanks for the input. Cheers, Lumpy
  2. Sorry if this is a repeat. I did search but couldn't find anything. I am looking at a number of hardware DVR cards. Many of them recommend using only older Intel chipsets: 845 / 865 /915/925/945/P965 Does anyone know of compatible, newer chipsets that will work with these? I hate to buy 3 year old motherboards to build systems to accept the DVR card. I know newer technology works as I have several running on new Intel boards with Windows 7, but they are software with Techwell 6805 chipset. I need hardware cards and am looking at several wtih TI chipsets, and they recommend the above, as do almost all the DVR cards I have been looking at. Thanks for any ideas. Lumpy
