One of the things the Geo tech people recommended was the PassUnInStall.exe file, but it didn't work for us either...
-
When it happed to us, we uninstalled & reinstalled Geo like 10X and nothing worked. We eventually had to format and reinstall win then reinstall Geo...
-
Did you check the box 'Allow Removal of P/W System' when you originally set up the GEO? If not, even after going 10 rounds with Geo Tech Support we had to format and start over...
-
Are you trying to install the OS on some other media then a HD? Why is no write to C: so important?
-
Oops, yeah that's what I meant. I was talking about scanning the registry for the Geo drivers/files you mentioned were installed in C:/Win. Definately backup the registry before doing anything!

DVR FPS Question 120fps vs 240fps - is it split by channel?

My 100th Post! Sorry, had to do it. Back to normal programming... -
DVR FPS Question 120fps vs 240fps - is it split by channel?
CCTVDude replied to RichTJ99's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
You should also consider Montion Detection and FPS Priority features that most good cards like the Geo have when deciding what frame rate you need. Most of the systems we do are set with motion detection. So on the 8 cam system, if only 4 are active at any point in time, you have 2X FPS to spread around to the other 4. FPS Priority is good to 'guarantee' a certain FPS to the most important cams, and the rest can split whats left over. -
After doing above, then maybe do a quick registry scan and anything that's pointing to c:\windows... change to D: and just make sure to copy any files to a D:\win dir.

I started to get excited until I saw they started at over $1000. And with no guarantee it will work... Ouch! Nice find though!
-
Nice, definately an option. I was hoping to get a Geo to work on a laptop somehow. Guess I was hoping for too much. Thx thought!
-
Right, and so I was asking if anyone knew if it was addressed in 7.1... Thx for the help though.
-
So if there a similar solution to AGC at all on the combo cards?
-
AGC let's u adjust the gain for each camera within the software and can really help with lighting issues. Especially w/ cameras that aren't full featured and don't have a gain control of their own - like bullets & covert stuff. In the Geo software the ACG option is grayed out on the combo cards...
-
Does anyone know if 7.1 will address the Automatic Gain Control (AGC) issue with the combo cards???
-
Have any of you done any Home Automation type stuff via the Geo? Like turn a light on/off, open a door, etc. I assume you use the GV-IO and a relay of some type??? Thx!
-
Got it. Thx Rory. Happy New Year my friend!
-
And then use them with the GV-IO right? For direct high-voltage use?
-
Ok, I think I got it... I see a whole lot of testing in my future!
-
If the GV-IO can do this, what does the GV-Relay offer that's different?
-
Unless there are specific features you are waiting for in 7.1, I would go w. 7.04/7.05 and wait till 7.1 is bug free (Beta testing aside). But by then 7.2 will be just around the corner...
-
Can you free up a slot by switching to an AGP Vid card or is it an older mother board? Definately an external modem would help...
-
Get ther Monday and leave Sunday Night! Might actually make it to the convention this year! Work Hard / Play Hard!
-
I think you'll be seeing a GV-Relay w/ our next order... thx!
-
Can you suggest a relay that will work with the GV-IO? And BTW: We've satarting buying some GEO cards from Sal & Digital Watch Guard and couldn't be happier. Solid Company. Anyone considering, I'm happy to be a reference! Thanks!
