Has anyone successfully done anything like this with a Geo?
-
Hey man, whatever works... My expereience with them is not as successful. What do you use?

I love X10! We probably get 1 deal per month from some rich guy that tried to cheap out with that crap. Around here we call X10 - Job Security!
-
Although we hook it up every time, I also think that not connecting the WatchDog is no big deal. Is it possible to splice into the wires before they get to the terminal block?

I'm trying to get a GV-600/4 to work and I keep getting the 'Can't find keypro' error and Geo software won't boot up. Normally this is driver related, but I Know i'm using the right ones. I've tried ver 7.04 and 6.05 v.3 card (from a reputable place - not ebay) MSI PM8M-V MB HELP!

Has anyone else had a problem traced back to bad Octipuss cables that come with the Geo cards. Usually channels 1 and/or 8 (9/16) won't display. It's happened to us a few times. Can you order replacement cables anywhere?

Ever call Geo for support and speak broken English at 4am? That's fun stuff too!
-
We've used the Avers' standalone video servers and they're decent. We went the Geo route with the DVR Cards b/c the Avers cards didn't do audio. Do they now?
-
Maybe... I've already swapped it out for a new card and it's fine. If have time I'll test other models, if not, it's RMA time...

Good solution. thx!

GV 600/4 I formatted it, reloaded XP and tried 6.05 & 5.401 and manually did the drivers and same problem. BTW - how do you tell what ver of Geo is running on a PC. There is no help/about. If there a txt file in case you can't load the Geo Software?
-
V3 & SP...?

Thought about that. This card didn't come w/ one but I know we've had that problem in the past. Didn't know this was the error. Maybe I got an old card. I'll dig one up and give it a try. Thx! Checked with my tech and when we had the problem in the past, we would get a USB error and no video, but the Geo software would load. This seems different.

Reputable vendor - have used over 100 cards from them over the past couple of years. Even tried 5.401... What MB do u use?

I switched to an Asus MB w/ Intel Chipset and same problem... I think its a bad card!
-
Is a new machine and is VIA... so I guess that explains the driver error. Thx. So what are the good chipsets to use? Intel & SiS? What Motherboards do you use?

What is the min bandwidth to get a stable audio & quad multi-view display? We have a customer w/ dsl 1.5/256 (actually getting 1.2M down / 212K up) and the audio has gaps. I don't think it's a mic problem (although could be), but I was just wondering how much b/w the audio uses.

According to Geo's web site, v7.05 was released on 11/15. Anyone have it?
-
I have 7.04 now, if you get 7.05, I'd like a copy! Thanks!
-
I am still using 7.02. I figured if I was going to get 7.04 I might as well get the newest... Where can I d/l it?
-
Where can you get them? The Geo site only has 7.04 for d/l. Is there an FTP site or something????????

Has anyone sucessfully setup a GeoVision with 2 Network Cards. 1 for local traffic and one for Internet? Can the Geo handle 2 IP's???
-
Sounds like the problem I have. Audio that is recorded is perfect but over the net it's choppy... I was hoping it was BW related. Anyone w/ ideas?

32K is not much at all, but I think it's maxing out his DSL. We talked him into upgrading to a higher DSL package (3M/756K ?). Hopefully it will help. I'm not one to go for inferior hardware, but we've had good luck using the cheap-o powered mics.
