Glad it isn't just us! Yeah, I remember 'jiggling' the cable and using a rubberband to keep it working before we could get another cable. Boy was our customer impressed... So where can you order more cables? and how much should they be?
-
I'll order 3 please!
-
Great Idea! I was thinking along those lines but hadn't gone as far as to order the cables to test, but I will now! THANKS!

iWATCH (Adam) and his wife gave birth to a beautiful baby girl this afternoon. He probably won't be online for a few days, but when you see him, congradulate him! Right now we need 2 GV900-16's. We typically buy: 600-4, 650-8 & 800-16... We get great prices, but our vendor runs out a lot. Someone can grow old waiting on that slow boat from China (or whereever)...

So is there any way to regain the AGC functions on the 1240? -
Has anyone had success getting any PTZs to work on tours with any other protocol then Lytolyn (sp?) or DynaColor? I don't mean tours programmed/controlled by a keyboard, I want to start/stop and program tours via the GeoVision software and can't get like Pelco P or D even to work. Thx all!!!

We have been using a Janton 64MB card for a while on 600-4, 650-8 and 800-16's. It seemed to work fine... This is our first expereience w/ the 1240 card... What were whe DSP files you were talking about deleting? When do you need to do that? -

Sorry, I just had a flashback to my former life as an IT Tech. eMachine was the like second comming of Packard Bell. Moto was who cares about quality or support, no one can build a machine cheaper then us... I remember always having problems and them being very difficult to work on. But, YMMV...
-
How do you know what will be in the 7.1 release and when is it supposed to come out?
-
eMachine? GULP! Good Luck...

Which BIOS settings are you talking about?

I setup the Watchdog feature on every DVR we sell, but I'm not convinced it does anything... Every once in a while you get a 'WatchDog rebooting system' message when it seems like nothing is wrong. And a couple of times I've seen a blue screen and no reboot???
-
Will an external USR Modem work? It is like the standard these days...
-
Yeah, I'm using the right cable... On 2 different DVRs we traced the problem to a bad Octi-cable. Replaced it and everything was fine... I thought we got a bad batch or something. Symptoms were inconsistant video on channels 1 & 8. Hmmm...

Man does this sound awesome! I'm going to give it a try! Do you set your personal PC this way? Are there any drawbacks to limiting the bandwidth reserved for the system? Will background windows events time out and error or something?

Some great info here. Thx! Does anyone know where to get cheap indoor domes that have one of the 4 protocols that are supposed to work with tours. I have a speed dome that works w/ Dynacolor but it's a little expensive for casual use. I'm looking for something in the $200-300 range that we can use to replace the ones we use now that don't tour. A PT w/ digital Z or no at all Z would work... Anyone? PM me. Thanks!

Help with my DVR System
CCTVDude replied to Rahul1023's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
Some cheap options on ebay... Click Here New I pay <$100 from a local vendor. Shouldn't be hard to find online for about that. Definately the best solution though. Will give best picture and very versitle piece if you reconfigure the system. If you get one with looping outputs, you don't need T's.
