mysticav started following about geovision countdown, Does GV-DVR 8.3 System supports IP Cameras?, Problems using remote Viewlog on ver 8.2 and and 6 others
-
There are 3 programs: GV-DVR Hybrid DVR GV-NVR I would like to know if the GV-DVR (Card based) support also IP cameras, or do I have to install Hybrid DVR ? I need to install just 2 IP Cameras, so I don't need GV-NVR, and the Hybrid maybe is not necessary. Any recommendation ?

When I tried to connect remotely using remote viewlog application, I got an error after Initial Database bar is loaded: "Unable to locate database. Please verify and try again" This happens only when I tried to connect outside the lan. Locally does not fail. The port 5552 is open and redirected correctly. Any Idea ?

I changed the motherboard. The problem still there ! Motherboard: FOXCONN 6627MA The sound is perfectly working (I can hear music and sounds). Still I get this terrible error alert. Can the problem be related to the physical dvr card? GV-1120 (12 Inputs) I have installed again the drivers, the Geovision main system. I'm starting to think that maybe the only alternative is reinstalling the OS (Windows XP SP2).

Yes, all the drivers are perefectly working. I have installed more than 30 geovision cards, and this is the first time I get this problem.

No. When you magnify the image normally geovision add some blur effect to make pixels soft. So, the image even if you magnify it, looks aceptable. But this effect is not present in my situation. I'm sure there's something related to de-interlace, interlace and direct draw overlay options.

Hi, Using multicam remote live view, if I use the magnifying glass tool to increase the size, the image gets pixelated. Normally this doesn't happen, because there's some blur effect to avoid this pixelated distortion. What do I have to change in geovision configuration to fix this ?

After installing geovision card, I get this error: initialize directsound failed How can I resolve that ?

Combo Cards Quality of live videos
mysticav replied to jzipf's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
I'm having the same problem with a combo card. I have already downloaded the latest Catalyst software, and I have .net framwork 1.1. (is version 2.0 neccesary?) In geovision system - >system options, the directdraw overlay is disabled but checked. Anyway, I still see the interlacing effect on movement. The video source is set to 720*480 De-interlaced. There's also an option called "DSP overlay" and it's checked. If I uncheck that the video becomes completely unblur, I mean, totally shaped, and looks terrible. SO, How can I de-interlace video with a combo card ?? Any solution ?? -
Sorry for my explanation but the idea was so simple. Some DVR brands allow you to add more than one PCI DVR card to your PC. for example, you buy 1 DVR card with 4 video inputs, you put it in one PCI slot. Then you want another 4 video inputs, so you can buy another dvr card and add it to another PCI slot. suddenly you will have 8 video inputs !! But seems that geovision DVR's are not capable to work in that way, so my question is : Is there any other solution to expand your video inputs other than buy a single 8 video input DVR card ?? Anyway, thanks for answering. lpdog, thanks for clear my doubt.

LEt's put it simple. a GV-250 (20 fps) with 4 BNC video inputs. http://www.geovision.com.tw/english/product/GV-250.htm I want to add more video inputs to this card. Is it possible, am I clear ? [/url]

YEs. But I didn't find any accessory like a video input extension, etc. The manual says that you can't add more than 1 PCI card. So, what's the solution ?
