Where do you guys get your cameras from. I'm on the West Coast (Orange County) and would like to find a distributer somewhat close to me. I'm looking to stock a large amount so a recommendation to a bigger distributer is ok. Thanks. Minh

I'm not carrying cameras yet, but dealer/distributer is the direction I'm headed. AVCONSULTING, thanks for the leads. Minh

Thanks for the heads up. I will follow up on your leads. Minh

If the account you specify is a limited account, the computer will boot with limited priviledges.

Hey guys, any systems have cell phone access besides Geo? Are they usually limited to a certain brand of cell phone? Thanks. Minh

Thanks for the links guys. I noticed on the alnetsystems site it mentions pocket pc. Does that mean if a dvr system has pda access with pocket pc pdas, it will also support pocket pc phones? or are the programs device type specific? Thanks again. Minh -
Most likely they won't work together.

Which DVR cards are you guys using for your budget systems? Thanks.

Is the connection PPPOE? SBC? I had this same problem with a previous customer. Never could get the Linksys to work with the speedstream 5100 properly. My fix was to replace the router with a different brand.

Chance-I Display problem.
eyeonutech replied to Securitymaster's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
We have our demo running on a ATI X300, so I don't think it's a PCI express problem. However, it could be a incompatibility with the newer video cards. -

Bad video card? Have you tried downloading the latest ATI video drivers? -
Does anyone here have the ability to change the look and feel...possibly add features to DVR software? Anyone want to quote me a price to do the work? Thanks. Minh

scottj, you have a PM

We are getting it OEMd now, the problem is we want to add features that they don't have available...yet. We just want it faster than they can provide it. So, any bids

Couple of Questions

Keep in mind that some boards won't work on Dell. Best to talk to your DVR supplier and ask. Minh -
Couple of Questions
eyeonutech replied to infringer's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
1) You can use a regular computer, however you should find out from the manufacturer of the DVR card which components have been test with their cards to minimize the chance of failure or incompatibility. Especially the motherboard. 2) Depends on the manufacturer of the DVR card. Some are stackable, and some are not. If you buy an 8 channel stackable card now, you can add another later. However, if you buy an 8 channel non-stackable card, you will need to swap it out when you want 16 channels. 3) Most go up to 16 channels. There are a few that go to 32 channels, but at that point you're better off going with two 16 channel systems. HTH, Minh -
I-View vs Geovision vs Digiflower

We used to use Eyemax (Unix CCTV is the distributer.) They are at a really good price point. However, Eyemax is having problems with their boards recently. If I were you, I'd stay away until they get their problems resolved. My friend installs Eyemax (Unix CCTV) for his company. Put in 5 last week, pulled the same 5 this week. Not kidding. -
What you guys doing for stress testing? Using a software utility or just recording video for a while? 24 hous? 48 hours? Thanks. Minh

Thanks for the tips guys. kandcorp, Thanks for the link. Looks like an awsome utility. I will definately check it out. Isn't it better to test in Windows so that you know the OS is stable? rory, what do you do to test it? Has anyone used http://www.passmark.com/products/bit.htm or any of these products http://www.uxd.com/ ? Thank again. Minh -
If mobility is not an issue, whey not just get a desktop and save youself some money? If you must have a notebook, you can read reviews and search disscussion forums here http://www.notebookreview.com/ I was personnally looking at the ASUS z71v http://www.notebookreview.com/default.asp?newsID=2346 or the ASUS Z70Va http://www.notebookreview.com/default.asp?newsID=2540 http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=30680 for a comparison. The screens are 15.4, but what I usually do is just use an external monitor when I'm docked and that way the laptop is more portable. VPON LINUX CARDS
eyeonutech replied to koutsikos's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
Of all of the LINUX DOM based units, the VPON is the most feature rich. The picture quality is good also. As long as you use the components they recommend, the systems are EXTREMLY easy to set up and are stable (no linux knowledge required.) As far as your time is concerned (if you're refering to time to setup a system,) I don't think it's possible to get a system up and running faster than with a DOM. -
Anyone have Chance-I that they SDK'd and are willing to license? Thanks. Minh
