  1. I think you meant #2 is a Kodicom knockoff. As for #1, it is http://www.wave-p.com/ If you like that card, you can get it cheaper on ebay from other sellers. I think they were a bit over priced for what they were selling. It didn't work in my test system. Granted it was onboard video, but the motherboard was intel running a 2.8 chip and 512 corsair memory. They have a good return policy though. 14 days no questions asked.
  2. Where do you guys buy your computer components from. Motherboards, video cards, RAM, etc. I'm looking for a distributer in the Los Angeles, CA and surrounding areas. I've been looking online and even retail mom and pop shops are calling themselves distibuters. I'd like to know where the computer stores get their parts from. Thanks. Minh
  3. Thanks Jasper. I'm actually looking to build 50 systems monthly so I'm looking for a volume supplier.

    Which cards

Thanks for the response Rory. What do you do if your customer wants 8 or 16 channels but doesn't want to spend a lot?
  5. I would go minimum P4 2.8 Make sure your motherboard has an Intel chipset You probabaly only need 512 ram ATI video card (maybe an ATI 9250 128MB) You don't need 2 hard drives, just 2 partitions. You're looking in the neighborhood of $600-$650 for the computer with OS (Windows XP Home) You could probabaly get by with a 16 channel 120fps DVR card (7.5fps/channel) I did one of the storage calculators and that's 200GB for 7 days of recordings. With a 16 channel 240fps card (15fps/channel) you'll need 450GB for 7 days of recordings. If you go motion recording only, you could get significantly more days or even weeks of storage.
  6. I'm looking for a decent ecomomy line of DVR cards to carry. In the price range of half to a 1/3 the cost of Geovision. Can anyone recommend something for me? Thanks. Minh
  7. Hi, I'm a system builder and I am looking for a distributer of DVR cards. 16 channel 120fps. I've tried to contact the I-view rep, but he hasn't responded to me. Thanks. Minh
  8. I believe you have to remove it from the startup folder in the start menu.

    Help identify

Thanks guys. The supplier is UNIX CCTV http://www.telpix.com/ The card is an Eyemax DVS-9480. It is a 16 channel 480 fps view 120 fps record card.
  10. Hi, I'm trying to find an alternate supplier for this product. Can someone help me identify the card and software maker? http://www.eyeonutech.com/DVR/dvr.html Thanks in advance. Minh
  11. Thanks for the clarification loop. If your dvr is directly connected and you're using IE, how do you (or IE) know which port to connect to? Does port 80 direct you to a downloadable ap that is able to detect the correct port?
  12. You can use pretty much anything over 2000. I've used 9090 in the past, but honestly, it doesn't matter which port as long as some other program isn't using it. Can you ping your dvr system locally to test for connectivity? keep in mind that if you use anything other than port 80, you will need to specify it in your browser. Let's assume your dvr has an IP address of 192.168.1.50, domain name of www.mydvr.com and using port 9090. In your viewing browser you will use http://192.168.1.50:9090 as your address locally and http://www.mydvr.com:9090 as your remote. Here the troubleshooting steps from another post. Please note that on my DVR system you have to enable or start the remote view service. On my system it's off when I start up the system and I have to start it manually. 1) Verify network connectivity. a) Start -> run -> cmd -> OK b) type without quotes "ping xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx" where the x is your IP address. c) replys means good network, timed out means no network 2) Disable the firewall on both computers to rule out a firewall problem. This is for XP. a) Right click My Network Place network select properties b) Right click Local Area Network select properties c) Click on Advanced -> Setttings -> Off -> Click OK -> Click OK d) If you're using third party firewalls (Zone Alarm, Sygate, Symantec Security), you will need to disable those as well. 3) Repeat step 1. If you still get timed out, you need to work on getting your network up and running. 4) Add your ip addresses to the trusted lists. From IE tools -> Internet Options -> Security -> Trusted Sites -> Sites -> http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx (uncheck Require Server Verification) -> Click Add -> Click OK -> Click OK 5) Verify the ports that your DVR is using 6) Try connecting without ports http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx if that doesn't work try it with port specification http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:yyyy (y is port # make sure you have the : in there) HTH Minh

    Anykeeper 2016 Remote IE viewing?

Use a different port in the DVR card software. In the router port forward the new port to your local IP address. In IE from the viewing computer type http://www.whatever.com:port# or http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:port number. Make sure it's not a firewall issue. I've responded to your post in the DVR card section with a more detailed explanation. LOOP: why can't you use a router? Is it something specific to anykeeper?
  15. I'm assuming you are able to surf the net with this system. No connection could possibly mean that you don't have any users connected. I haven't come across software that actually cares whether or not you have network connectivity. Try specifying a different port. Also, check here for additional troubleshooting. http://www.cctvforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=2797 Have you tried calling Swann's tech support?
  16. JM sounds like you either have a cabling problem with your cameras or your cameras aren't getting any power. Also, you might want to check in your software properties and make sure the correct number of cameras are specified. Could also be that your DVR card drivers aren't installed properly. Please note, I've never used Anykeeper, but I've seen this problem with other cards and software.
