IP camera into BNC
aquanuke replied to aquanuke's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Thanks, I get really great wi-fi signal all over my property. Even at the end of my garden I can surf perfect. Which gives alot of posbilities for a wireless camera which I would not be a able to run cables to. I think I will just run a couple of additional cameras on a pc, just it would have been nice to keep things together. btw I have tried the other wireless (cant think what you call it, non wi-fi where you convert a analog camera) and that sucked very poor. -
IP camera into BNC

Thanks for all the replies, I have the AVtech AVD715 DVR I did before that have a PC setup with a Geovision card. But was a PITA to be honest which is why I went standalone and since then (couple of years now) has been 100% painless. But at the moment im setting up a wireless IP camera system for my father as he hates cables and in doing so im seeing the benefit of being wireless and wondering if I could incorporate a couple of wireless cams into my own setup. -
IP cam recommendations under £200 - Y-cam anygood ?
aquanuke replied to aquanuke's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I recieved my camera today (y-cam black knight) and all in all im quite happy with the camera itself, but the software is quite poor both the supplied one and the multi live one from their website. Couple of things that I need from the software is sound/beep on alarm and to be able to mask the area for detection rather then the whole area that it does. Are there any good software options preferably free ? -
Im venturing into IP cams for the first time and wondered is it possible to use wireless IP cams on my BNC DVR. Ie wireless to BNC convertor ?

Hi im looking for some IP cams under the £200 mark Things I need are wireless, does not need to be outdoors and needs IR I was thinking about the Y-Cam Black Wireless Indoor IP Camera http://www.use-ip.co.uk/y-cam-black-wireless-indoor-ip-camera.html Ive been reading mixed reviews on them, but some of the reviews are quite old so I guess they have been improved on since. Anyone with experience of the above. Thanks -

Hi im wondering if your program does not support port numbers higher then XX as if I do ./snavtclient -s -H 192.168.1.104 -p 8080 I errors with aquanuke@TOSHIBA-User:~/Desktop/snavtclient-0.0.4$ ./snavtclient -s -H 192.168.1.104 -p 8080 ./snavtclient: SDLNet_TCP_Open: Couldn't connect to remote host ./snavtclient: login to 192.168.1.104:80 failed Should I reconfigure my DVR with a XX port range ? Thanks Chris -
Hi im trying to get the auto scan PTZ feature working. The manual is not very helpful anyone here know how to make the PTZ auto scan/loop through the presets. The manual says.. O ther then pressing the AUTO button I dont know what else to try, there is also on the remote control a blue menu button (blue is for PTZ functions) but this button does not seem to do anything either. Hi im a bit of a newb. My first cctv camera was a cheap ebay day night one and the picture was very close. How can I explain like nearer to you which was great. I then bought a more expensive camera as I started building up my setup. The picture was great but was further away, ie camera mounted in same location but the actual picture was further out. If I say was focusing on my car the first camera would give me a nice shot all around the car but then my new camera would be zoomed right up to the windscreen. When choosing a camera what specs should I be looking at to find out how far in/out the picture will be. Thanks.

Geovision GV-800 cant control ptz remotely

Hi I cant seem to enable control of my PTZ camera remotely. In the networking tab I select "webcam server" a box pops up with server setup and I select "video" in that there is the PTZ setting "allowed PTZ camera" but all the camera selections are greyed out.
