I would really be interested in how Stand Alone Dvr's are commonly and uncommonly manufactured in regards to hardware configuration and specifications. How do they measure up performance wise to PC-Based DVRs hardware (Mainboard Processor clock speeds, RAM, bus speed, Core clock speeds of video processors, voltage etc..) Any input on any embedded stand alone DVR's hardware setup would be appreciated.

I would like to make a small application in which a trusted site could be added to the Internet Explorer without actually going through Internet Options in IE. If anyone knows where that is kept in the Win XP Pro registry it would be greatly appreciated. Or, if anyone knows of an existing program that does this already that would be great too. Thanks in Advance.

Actually just found this website today. Never heard of them but I am sure there pretty expensive. http://www.jai.com/camera/products.asp/sprog=uk Or the thermal cameras.
-
Thanks Jasp, I think that will help out a lot.

Yes exactly, basically something we could send our customers via email, then whichever computer they are using to remotely access the DVR they would just run this app. instead of trying to enable Active X settings or add trusted sites.

Embedded DVR's Hardware specifications.

According to Freescale.com (Semi-Conductor manufacturer for Motorola etc.) Kalatel Calibur DSR-2000e uses the Freescale DSP56F826, a 16Bit Digital Signal Processor for mainboard processing. Dont know exactly how many are on each board of this particular DVR, but here are some specs: Up to 40 MIPS at 80MHz core frequency 512 × 16-bit words of Program RAM 2K × 16-bit words of Data Flash 4K × 16-bit words of Data RAM 2K × 16-bit words of BootFLASH Supply Voltage: 3.0–3.6 V 2.25-2.75 V http://www.freescale.com/webapp/sps/site/overview.jsp?code=DRDSPCSTMPRDX&srch=1 http://www.freescale.com/webapp/sps/site/prod_summary.jsp?code=DSP56F826&nodeId=0127956292 -
I know what you mean . But, if your on a budget and it's between these and some monitor powered RJ-11 Cameras from Sam's Club or Costco...I would choose these. There not as bad as I have seen before. Hey, at least there not using a cmos 140TVL sensor .

They are a big OEM CCTV company based out of Florida. They have some decent cameras for decent prices. More DIY type stuff. As far as the images they look pretty good considering the DVR setup. Probably would look better at higher resolution and image quality settings. for the money not bad at all.
-
Here are some bigger shots. Keep in mind recording is in 352x240 and the image quality is set almost to the lowest due to the cheap PC setup. Yes Rory, I guess you could call it a Mace Cam. They have the same camera (Cam57FHI). Oh, the cams are 1/3" Sony 420TVL:

Wow, what an idiot. No gloves, left lights on, tried to break into a unlocked car So what happened? Did you get him?
-
Yes, the country. Yes, pretty small casinos. You wouldn't believe the traffic they get though, especially early morning. Almost every Slot Machine in the entire place is occupied.
-
They were using Aver cards. The PC though was built by my dealer first off with a PC Chips $25.00 Cheap Via Chipset Motherboard, second w/ an AMD cpu, and last On Board Video . Basically he purchased the cards and cameras and built the systems locally in Columbia. Now with a better pc hardware setup, performance of the DVR should increase dramatically. But, having no internal IT dept. it really doesn't matter which way they go s/a or pc dvr. But, its a lot different in Columbia, budgets for surveillance systems are very low, well at least in this case.

Definitely agree with you on that one spyman. Casinos should love the ICR “Pro Seriesâ€

Hey isaac you should throw up some Screentshots of those cams you have connected. I'd like to see the difference between the Pano's and 68.
