Cmon Rory--We are calling you out.
-
I am putting together some systems for a check cashing chain. They will all be 12 channel PC based DVR's. We will be utilizing the 2-way audio function for speaking to the lobby remotely via an intercom speaker or similar. My Question is; Who has used this feature, and what type of speaker or intercom did you utilize. I would assume it would need to be amplified given the PC will not put out enough power from the audio out on MOBO. They will use the on-board sound. Also, the stores do not have an existing intercom system to tie into. So basically it will run from the PC's audio out to the speaker in the lobby for announcements like "Hey, you in the black shirt No Soliciting" Thanks in advance!

What, you haven't heard about those new snake powered PSU's>>
-
We use XP Pro SP2. for all systems.
-
Why not go realtime? Instead of time-lapsed. How many audio and video channels will be recorded?
-
True, no matter what CCD size your still going to get that fish-eye look. It may look a little better between the sizes but still fishy.
-
A 1/4" CCD Camera will improve the "Fish-eye look" from a 1/3" ___________________________________________________ i.e. 1/3" CCD w/ 2.8mm will give you a 81.2 degree horizontal FOV 1/4" CCD w/ 2.8mm will give you a 59.49 degree horizontal FOV 1/2" CCD w/ 2.8mm will give you a 97.63 degree horizontal FOV, but if your talking about 1/2" I dont think you can find any cameras with 1/2" CCD's that will accept a board lens.

We keep the FPS down to preserve bandwidth. You should be getting at least 7.5 fps. -
Need quality shot of wide and 22x zoom camera shot
kandcorp replied to jisaac's topic in Security Cameras
Here is a 26X zoom PTZ. Almost all the way out about 4-5mm and then all the way in 91mm with a 1/4" Sony. I tried zooming in a little to compensate for the additional 4x zoom so it should be pretty accurate. Hope this helps. -

Typically yes you will get better recorded video. But, like you just said its not all resolution. -What type of application will this camera be in? (day, night, indoor, outdoor) -What are the lighting levels? -What cameras are you comparing with? These factors will all determine picture quality and clarity. Why dont you give us the 3 cameras your comparing and where you plan on installing them and we will give you our opinions. Thanks,
-
Give us the run down of the PC setup; hardware, software, case, cooling. We will be glad to recommend the best DVR card for your application. And maybe save you some trouble with incompatible hardware conflicts you may come across.

kandcorp replied to oderus1671's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
Yes I would recommend that. Version 5.5 has some really usefull new features. Please visit http://www.aver.com/2005home/support/downloads/faq_nv1000nv3000nv5000.shtml for the latest version of software (5.5). -

kandcorp replied to oderus1671's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
That shouldn't have been an issue, and usually we would mount a single card on the first PCI slot (closest to PSU) But, I am glad you got it all figured out. -
No, the IR version does not have a varifocal lens. It comes standard with a 3.6mm fixed. So, the housing is not any bigger, its the same size as the one above.

Goto SETUP Click RECORDING Under the Recording Mode Section (Upper Right) you will see right below where you choose Motion Rec., Cont rec, etc a Start Recording Prior and a Stop Recording After. You can change the number of seconds there. -
Not true CollinR. There are a few S/A DVR's I no of that have PC like features. Obviously not all the features and functions, but at least the important ones.
-
Hopper, Yes, I have used and sold the 53CIR before so let me know if you have any questions. On the ICRealtime DVR, it would all depend on: -Motion Detection -Framerate per channel -Resolution settings -Image quality settings -Camera being used We are working on a DVR HDD calculator and should have it out very soon. But, I should be able to give you a rough estimate based on the model and the above variables. Thanks
-
Ok, so on the 53CIR you have 3 different areas moisture could penetrate. 1. The back cable seal (make sure its not loose, and check from the inside) 2. The Microphone Hole (You can look inside as well and check that out) 3. The front housing seal (make sure its tightened clockwise and seal is in place) You might actually want to unscrew the front part of the housing. First remove the sunshield (or just bend it up). Once the front of the camera is off, you will see the entire inner part of the camera. Check all the spots I stated above and make sure there is enough of that chinese glue/seal on those areas. I have seen that happen many times to those cameras. Most of the time it is the front seal of the housing.

What ports do you have the 3 cameras connected to? (1,2,3,4) Do you have the 4th port (not being used) recording and display settings turned off? oh and as far as putting videos on the forum...you must host them yourself or through a 3rd party file hosting company. You cannot upload video files here. Thanks -
What brand and model of camera?
-
They come from S.Chen (YES CCTV). I havn't used that particular cam, but have had good experiences with the IR version in the same housing. Link: http://www.yescctv.cn/pages/products_view.asp?id=25 I think the company you are talking about probably gets them from COP. http://www2.cop-usa.com/ebproduct.asp?catmainid=124
