Installation Error

If you need to reset your password or do a system restore, you can do this with Winternals. That is what I use for these type of situations. Basically it will boot off your RAM into its own OS. http://www.winternals.com/ Or you could use Ultimate Boot CD. There is no need for a reformat. And it is surprising that the software didn't recognize your OS version and prompt you when you chose Server edition. -

Thanks for the laugh Isaac -
System #1 should perform very well with the GEO card. No HT is a good thing. It would need to be disabled anyway if you were to use system #2. System #3 I dont think will work with the dual core CPU. It would be overkill to use the 2 and 3 PC's. Especially if you are only using this PC as a dedicated DVR. The 9800 Pro should perform very well and 1GB of DDR RAM is an ample amount. I am a big fan of ASUS mobo's as well. Very stable boards.

Rory, there are many useful points of having this service. I get asked this question from a new client at least 2-3 a month. Have you visited http://www.westecnow.com/ Watch all the videos, some pretty in depth services. Example of a question asked from a new sales call recently: Can you monitor my camera pointed at my cashier, view the text via DVR POS interface, and generate a report of all Voids made during his/her shift. Yes this would need to be a constant monitoring during his/her shift. 8-12 Hours. It may be expensive but as far as loss prevention, its worth it. Now our PC DVR can accomplish all of this remotely. Text search is done through the software. Search for all voids and bam, theres all the times a void was made, export bmp or vid clip and email to the owner.

Anyone ever heard of http://www.westecnow.com/ They seem to be the only company that really focuses on remote monitoring.

Thank you all for the input, it always helps out.

Try downloading the manual and software from here: http://www.jenelletech.com/Downloads.htm I have no experience with this DVR or software so I cant say that this is the correct software for your DVR. -
No, that would be expensive. More like check in tours. I talked to a company today that charges $18.00 a month for 2 check in tours a day. They create a report and email/call it to the client for an additional $2.50 a month. If you wanted more tours or I think they called them, "Alarm Guard Tours" it is an additional $6.00 per tour /month.

Pondering the IDEA. Just would like to get some more info. Does anybody have pricing and services provided? McFennel, what do you charge and whats included.

Any idea? This problem just started happening with a few of our PTZ's. They will Zoom and Tilt but no PAN. The PTZ we use is here: http://www.cctvforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=3831 Oh, and we have tried Pelco P and D at all Bauds, with no luck. The PTZ is running of our PC DVR. Thanks in advance

Ok, well the cam needs to be a Sony Ex-View sensor if your looking for low light. Would a covert cam in a Clock or Teddy Bear work out for this? Also, Is the monitor and camera going to be battery powered? You say 50Ft. is this direct line of site or through a wall or 2.
