PTZ---Tilt, Zoom, but no PAN
kandcorp replied to kandcorp's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
RS-485 PTZ, but we convert it back to RS-232 before the DVR, being the DVR does not support 485. -
Not really, dont know what you think is expensive. But personaly I think they are priced well. At least if you buy direct.

Wiring outdoor heated housings

Most heater/blower housings are 24Volt. What we do is run one 24 volt power supply to the heated housing with 18guage. That will power the housing. Then use a 24 to 12 volt converter to run to the camera. -
During the construction phase... Dubai , United Arab Emirates: All finished. Notice the palm trees outside.......... Remember, this is in the middle of the desert.... The very HOT desert where temperatures get up to 120 degrees..... Unbelievable! But true..... The INSIDE view: Why is gasoline $2.39 + a gallon for regular unleaded?????? Supply and demand??? That must be it.... we want them to supply us with the oil and they demand that we pay the price!

Ahhh, well if he wants all the same image this is the way to go.

My suggestion: Get a new cam, power supply and cable. Most IR bullet cams are fully weatherproof so there is no need for additional housing. Also, they all pretty much switch to B&W at night. Eclipse has pretty decent stuff. I would search around. It all depends on your budget. Oh, and B&W bulllets are available, i'll do some research and post back with my thoughts.

There other DVR's look interesting: http://rifatron.com/product/dvr.htm Internal UPS..Never seen that before. And they look like cable or tivo boxes

I was asking because hikvision will just about sell to anyone, so if you were reselling I would probably recommend someone else.

Or just get one of these http://www.compusa.com/products/product_info.asp?product_code=50263621&cm_ven=Performics&cm_cat=Bookshopmaker+(formerly+Tool+Realm)&cm_pla=General&cm_ite=Domsys+DDI+Link&ref=performics I would probably stick to at least a 128MB vid card (AGP or PCI-Ex) With this you could get up to 5 monitors (4 form the vid splitter and one from the additional output (DVI or VGA) on the Vid card.

First off, it is made by HikVision/Aventura Technologies/Vendoma. From my experiences it is a pretty good DVR with some good features; H.264, Relatime Rec, Audio, triplex. I am testing the 16 channel version right now, with good results. Are you looking to purchase for personal use, or resell? www.Aventuratechnologies.com www.hikvision.com/en/Info/index.asp www.vendoma.com All the same company.

PC/DVR Advice Please!
kandcorp replied to dsr_80's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
I can understand the simple tasks; office, internet but Gaming. You will not be able to run the DVR program and get online and play games at the same time. Just not enough resources. You will have to shut down the DVR program to do that otherwise. As far as the hardware/software setup...It all depends on the card you will be using. General guidlines; Pent CPU, Intel Chipset MOBO, 64MB+ Vid Card, 80GB+ HDD or partition. There is not really a best DVR Card. We can all help you out depending on your needs and budget. So lets start with that. -
