Looking for a weakness in Intellex DVR
kandcorp replied to cctv_down_under's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Cons: 1 ch. Audio 640 x 240 120FPS Max for 4,8 and 16ch. No Central Remote Software No E-Map No PDA/Smart Phone Support (I think) No Digital Zoom in live/playback Realtime Recording only on the 4ch. Only 2 Remote Viewers MAX No IP cam Support No Object Search Those are what I have gathered from recent research. One thing I am having trouble finding is the compression method. Is it Proprietary or ?? I have been trying to do a side by side comparison of all major PC DVR manu's. I apologize if any of this info is incorrect I am just going by specs I have found in my research. Thanks -
Yea, you can get it up here in Atlanta too. I do beleive it is cheaper here as well. Funny how that works out..

We use Acer #AL1715 17" LCD's They have never given us any problems and we are extremely satisfied with the quality and performance. Oh, and is this for PC Based DVR's?? Cause your in the Stand Alone section of the Forum. If your talking about Stand Alone DVR's and VGA outputs, thats a whole different story. Thanks

How To Save an Hour (Or More) On XP Installs
kandcorp replied to DataAve's topic in Computers/Networking
Yes only CDR's . And use Alcohol 120% Also, just use symantec Ghost..copy a hard drive from a computer with ness. programs and basic drivers, then use that on all new installs and formats. Very Fast. -

But, keep in mind decent LCD monitors with composite inputs(RCA, BNC) are very pricey$$$

Ok, if the DVR does backup in M-Jpeg format follow this rule: 1 day (24Hours) in M-Jpeg depending on image quality settings you will need about 4-7GB. Break that down into hours you will need 166-291MB per Hour. So if indeed it does output backups in M-Jpeg w/ no audio you can use this as a general rule of thumb. I would probably get a 512MB-1GB mem stick. But then again I dont know the DVR that well I am just going on other machines I have used in the past.

Thanks VST, you said what I was thinking. Its not like I was sending him to my website or telling him to PM me so I can try and get a sale. I just know ***Town has excellent customer support and the product was less expensive there then the Manu's www. Also, any direct questions I am sure ***Town would answer for him being that they have had experience with the product.

This is what we use for our portable demo cases. We fit the PC DVR, 4 Cams, LCD monitor, and all the cables inside. You could probably use the case to keep the DVR/Monitor in. They get pretty warm inside with everything on. You could probably custom make a Port hole for an exhaust to keep moisture down. I dont know....Just thinking out loud.

We put DVD/CD burners in all of our systems. If any back up is done we recommend using the burner. If a USB stick is needed we charge extra.

I apologize CM. Won't happen again. I just figured why let him get ripped off at a higher price direct from the manufacturer.
-
I dont know What Happened???
-
Wait, sorry. You were talking about the GEOvision password or your windows password??
-
NO you dont. Use the ultimate boot CD or Winternals. PM me if ya need

Check these out: http://www.lcdracks.com/convert/Composite-VGA.htm That is the manufacturer's WWW.

A slight delay is always expected when using a PC DVR. But differs between hardware/ software setups.
-
I'd go with the Cam53CIR.
-
For the money you could find a better camera.
-
Yes you should be able to find one for around 50. At least one that will give the pc 10-20 min to power down properly. http://froogle.google.com/froogle?btnG=Search+Froogle&q=UPS&lmode=online&brand=APC

I would be more concerned with frost and moisture too. I think if the PC/DVR is in a small office in a dry space it should be fine. Especially if it never powers down. Put a UPS next to it. That should keep the Temp up.

check out this: http://www.pchell.com/hardware/beepcodes.shtml What bios is it running?
