We state at the time of the sale that we will not support: Setting up the DVR on their network. Helping them Burn a DVD/CD. Anything that really has nothing to do directly with our systems and involves another company (ISP, Nero, etc) But, we always end up helping them. At least pointing them in the right direction. We charge for service calls by the travel time(usually $40-$85) and Labor Hours($85/hour). But, then again if it is a client who has been very nice and easy to deal with and could have the potential for referrals or repeat business we will sometimes cutthem a break. Case by Case I guess I am trying to say.

Haven't used that Particular module but have used a few products from VTS. There DATA and VIDEO over COAX works very well. Works kind of like the Coaxitron from Pelco. I used it for a PTZ one time and was very happy with the results. Thanks -

Got the BETA about 5 months ago. Basically it will be replacing XP. I ran it on a PC for testing purposes for about 4 weeks. I really enjoyed it. Some really different, new features. IE7 was cool to. And i guess the ENTIRE windows file system has changed. Really couldn't test it to its full potential because the lack of Windows Vista Drivers (sound, video, etc.)

PC based DVR system slow-down/froze problem.
kandcorp replied to toughman's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Totally false. This may be true if the system is setup improperly. When a PC Based system is setup the RIGHT WAY this problem is never an issue. Like Rory said there are tons of extra services and programs not needed at all. PC BASED DVR's SHOULD ONLY BE USED FOR DVR PURPOSES. There should be no need for a daily reboot. We have had systems up and running non stop for over a year now maybe even 2. Anyway, if you research the forum a little you will find numerous threads about this issue and about the services and programs not needed. Talk to Rory he is the PC DVR expert. He can run 480FPS 16 ch. off a petium 3 500Mhz.. -
