Yes, we started carrying this DVR about 2 months ago. Have about 23 out in the field so far. None of them have had any problems. The only thing we ran into so far was when connecting to the dvr remotely if your computer is a Pentium 3 w/ onboard video, 500Mhz or comperable it is very unstable. Freezes and hardly gets any video movement. Pros Very stable machine Auto Tune Feature is nice 2 hard drives Nice GUI remote control easy menu functions Cons simplex machine no web server built in USB can only be used for computer to dvr conection (no external cdrw or HDD) Other than that we have had real good luck with this DVR so far. We package it and sell it at a great price. A good basic machine for small jobs. 20 out of the 23 sold have been conveience/gas stations. The other 3 have been in retail stores. Let me know if you have anymore questions. _______

High Resolution, what is the definition?
kandcorp replied to jisaac's topic in General Digital Discussion
True, I usually refer to high res with 480+ TVL but the word doesnt mean anything anymore. You have a majority of people/businesses/manufacturers calling 380 TVL "No Name" CCDsensor cameras "High Resolution." When in fact they suck..and should be called crappy resolution cameras. Another thing that really bugs me is companies claiming a camera is 480TVL Sony Super HAD CCD when in fact they are 420TVL Sony CCD. I have hard evidence on a couple different companies doing this. Its not fair to the consumer and they should be punished for false advertising. Thats why I started this thread: http://www.cctvforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=3344&highlight=camera+resolution -
AV, Yes I worked for Mace HQ for about 3 1/2 years as a sales rep. Was there from day one. I have a lot of thoughts about the company. PM me for more info.

Washmaster, That phone (motorola Q) is going to be awesome. You can pick one up right now for just $4150.00 at: www.no-air-time.com click on pre-released phones Yea I would probably wait until the official release of the phone. -

EZJ, You can find everything you need to know about these systems by searching the forums and the manufacturer's www. We probably do about 80% of our local sales/installs to gas stations/convenience stores. We use our PC based DVR's. Anywhere from 4 channels to 16 channels. The thing with gas station owners is, majority of them are very price conscience about what they spend their money on. You have to start a little higher than your minumum sale price, then you can back down so it seems like they are getting a discount or deal. Works almost everytime. And you have to stress the features and functions of the DVR system you are selling, because they are comparing and most of the time to low end budget systems you would find at Sam's or Costco. Explain what the differences are and make sure they understand everything. We do advertising in a few local reseller magazines that are distributed throughout our area to Gas Stations/ Convenience stores. We advertise a complete solution package and special pricing just for the gas station owners. It gives us great results and a lot of incoming calls. Put together full complete packages , DVR, Cameras, Mounts, Cable, etc. POS (Point of Sale) integration is a bonus too. You can find more info on that in the forums.

Try http://www.servision.net/ They manufacture some great mobile DVR's. Operate mostly with SIF and QSIF compressions. Adjustable bit rates to support the full range of network bandwidths (9 KBits/sec to 1 MBits/sec, 5-30 fps live) Supports GPRS, CDMA. Check them out very stable machines. -

MagicRadar Remote View
kandcorp replied to zhiyi_ze's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
In order to view your internet explorer might need the following adjustment. In the tool bar at the top of the page, click on "Tools." Next, click on "Internet Options" then on "Security." Now click on "Custom Settings," whch can be found near the bottom of the section that you just opened. This will open a screen which displays your "Active X" settings. You now need to go down the list and set first three options to "Enable." Now click "OK" and return to the Internet Explorer. Try that and let us know. Oh and where does this error message appear in a seperate small window or in the main ie screen. Thanks. -
Rotate a view by 90 degrees

Can you just rotate the cam 90 degrees -
Avermedia cards are catching up to that of GEO. Very nice GUI and function/features are comperable to GEO cards. New software really has expanded the performance. Being a reseller of these cards I have really learned a lot about them and I have to agree with Baywatch they do have their act together. We dropped our GEO line couple years back and now exclusively using Aver cards. If systems are built right the cards perform amazingly stable with little problems and very small CPU utilization. Couldnt be happier. Also, few steps away from Multi Site remote client software...cant wait, been dying to try it out.

Need advice on text insertion for Mace DVR
kandcorp replied to groovyman's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
The external text inserter should have no compatability issues with any DVR. Its whether or not the register/receipt system is compatable. The AVE VSI is what we use here and I actually used when I worked for MACE couple years back. First check if it works with your POS system. And what Mace DVR do you have the 400RW or 400NR -

Does the software screen look like this: -
That looks pretty bad for a EXCDN-56LED exview cam. I have had a lot of bad luck with that camera. We played with that cam for months and finally gave up. The IR's were just not powerful enough and didnt make the 90Ft claim by manufacturer. What kind of power are you giving it?
