Hi, I typically install my own cameras (ACTi) at my local property, but we just bought a new property that we want to remotely view. At the local property, I have a pc connect to 3 monitors showing 16 ACTi cameras, nice and simple install. At this new property, we want to install another 10-16 cameras which shouldn't take much effort. However, I've never done a remote view set up. The remote property will have 100 Mb/s down and 20 Mb/s up with 5 static IPs. Need directions/guide to view cameras from a remote site. (PC must, Phone nice to have). We want to add a second PC and 2-3 monitors to view these new remote cameras at the local property. Is there a good guide that shows how best to do this? Would it use the same ACTi NVR software we are running now? If we wanted to also add a phone app view, what would the set up look like? One of the other partners has had luck using Dahua installed with by a professional installer, but I prefer to go with ACTI. I just need directions to do this. Can anyone help out? Thanks, ps. For remote viewing what do you prefer Dahua vs ACTi?

Arecont AV5100 default IP? Where to find AV Installer?
epicstruggle replied to cctvpro2008's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
It finds the camera. Gives me the mac address and IP address but it isnt able to access it. Ok, I figured it out. It turns out that my MS firewall was blocking the AV Installer from getting access to the camera. Once the I added the program to the allow list it successfully accessed the camera. It also gave me a different IP address. Using this new/correct IP address I got CyeWeb cms to connect to the camera. Im now trying to figure out why LuxRiot cant connect to it or one of the other CMS/NVRs to connect. Other than the IP address am I missing something? Thanks. -

Hello, my first post here, but i have been lurking for a while. I think i finally found the dvr for my motel: CPcam's CPD507 Im looking for the following in a security system: +capable of 9-14 cameras +Great recording quality in the office cam, rest can be ok quality +some internet capability, although not required +the dvr itself shouldnt cost more than $2k or so dollars, [although willing to spend more if the dvr is worth it.] Does anyone have any input to provide with this perticular dvr? Is there something better out there in my price range? Also, im not sure when companies release their new models, so if you think that waiting for the next years model might be worth it, please let me know. thanks in advance for your input, kirit ps Im only purchasing the dvr, i have an installer who will do the hooking up for me. He likes the gen4 (?) dvr's, but he is still new to the whole dvr thing.

the dvr unit for around 2 or so thousand dollars. The cameras, wires, and installation cost will be separate from that amount. I dont need much encouragement to buy another computer. lol. i was under the impression that standalone dvrs were better than computer based add in card dvr system. Sorry noob here. What would you recommend? As listed above, i just want great recording quality (D1, if i have my terms correct), 1 audio channel for the office, and up to 16 camera capable. thanks mate for your responce. kirit
