MegaPixel Video Recorders - NVRs, Hybrid DVRs, etc
maniooo replied to rory's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hello, few propositions from me. Alnet Systems http://www.alnetsystems.com/ List of supported cameras is long, includes all popular vendors. They have DVR cards and NVR software, creating hybrid is possible. Good support for cellphones. You can download a free client and check an on-line demo: http://www.alnetsystems.com/page/en/pobierz As we in Poland say: "Good because polish" . Instek Digital - Matrivideo http://www.instekdigital.com/ Much more advanced system, great for big applications (5000 cameras in Taipei). Many accessories, external devices (matrixes, NAS, archive servers etc.). Highly scalable. List of supported cameras: http://www.instekdigital.com/id/support/camera-compatibility Demos: http://www.instekdigital.com/id/media/product-introduction/console-overview It is good to remember, that ACTi, Arecont Vision and many others manufacturers supply their own software, which can be used to build low cost recording centres. -
Hello, Well, that's why I asked. Picture can be sharp in day light, because aperture is almost closed and DoF is large. When it is getting dark, aperture has to open, DoF gets smaller and objects, which should be sharp are outside the DoF. You should set lens using ND filter/when it is dark/using special position in menu (like Lens wizard). Are You sure, that it is not the problem? Regards.

Hello, maybe it is just a problem with Depth of Field (DoF)? Did You test another copy of this camera in the same place? Maybe this on is broken? Lens should be set up as DC, the rest of the parameters shouldn't influence the sharpness of picture. By the way - does the menu of this camera looks similar to this one? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NIQ54q2FPxo If yes, than it looks very similar to Samsung's cameras. Well, ok, positions in menu have different names . Regards.

Standard Auto-Iris Lens vs. Day/Night Auto Iris Lens
maniooo replied to alpine0000's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Hello, Exactly. Clearer, sharper, in focus. In normal lens IR focuses in another point, than the visible light and so picture could not be sharp. http://www.isorainbow.com/tech/day_night_info.htm No, it has not. It is not an obligatory, but if I can, I always use such lenses with cameras with IR cut filter. IR is always present around us, many light sources gives small amount of IR too, so I prefer to use such lenses. When IR lighting is used, You have to use such lenses to obtain clear and sharp image. Regards. -
Hello, once again Bosch's 0495 and new Samsung A1 series. Regards, Marian

Hello, many persons tell me that Computar overview is quite usefull. You can find it on site computarganz . com . (I can not paste links - I don't have 5 post. It is annoying...) On the left side, below the drop down list click "Download Catalog". After downloading this pdf (~13MB), check the bookmark called Technical information. Besides many good sources can be found via the google books service. Regards, Marian -
Night camera points directly at bright light. What to do?
maniooo replied to sequoia's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Hello, Well, if You can try this solution - do it. Maybe it could help. In my opinion You should try a camera with a HLC (Highlight compensation) function. For example Samsung SHC-735. Regards. -
Hello. "From memory the name is altech or something similar, maybe. " Let me guess - Alnet Systems? Thanks that I am from Poland . Regards.
