    Window Mobile 6.5 Viewing

I'm running Windows Mobile 6.5 and have installled Eagle Eyes for WinCE. Each time I run the program I get the error "The network is failed". My HSDPA is active and working. The IP address and port info is correct and my PC web based viewer is working fine over the internet. I've tried reinstalling the program but no luck. Based on the posts I've seen on the site there is a Eagle Eyes (New Version) but the site http://211.22.74.18/ is down and this one http://www.lakson.com.sg/cpcam/ only has the Eagle Eyes for WinCE. Anyone seen this problem?
  3. The version of the setup file I have is 0.1.3.0, on the DVD that came with the DVR its called the #h.264. Mine is different to the screen shots in your link. Log is an extra option I have with this version of Video Viewer - always there. DVR control is there when I login. What does "Network Independent" and "RETR Remote record" do?
  4. When Video Viewer launches and before you expand the progam to full screen you get a range of icons accross the top. The icons are Address booK, Miscellaneous Control, Log, Record, Snapshot, Informaton, and DVR control. Then when you expand the program to full screen you get different controls on the bottom right you have the two cogs, dvr control and PTZ. So what I'm not sure about is if Miscellaneous Control/Remote config changes only the Server settings or both the server and the local PC? Does Miscellaneous Control/Record setting changes settings on both DVR and PC or just the PC? Log - why is this always empty even thought I get montion alert events on the Video Viewer UI? So is the Event log for stored events on the DVR or PC? What does "Network Independant" and "RETR Remote record" do? Thanks
  5. The viewer software that came with my previous DVR would only let you control settings on the actual DVR. I suppose I expected all DVR software to work in the same way. However, with Video Viewer and my AVTech DVR it seems that there is additional functionality that allows the user to save images/files to the Local HDD and on the DVR itself. There are configuration changes you can make for your PC and the DVR. What I am not clear on from using the Video Viewer software is, when I make a setting change does it apply to the DVR or on my local PC. Based on the manual I have it does not go into any details on this. Am I making sense yet?
  6. I rang the supplier of the DVR and they said either try a new hard disk or return the DVR. Tried a different hard disk but had the exact same problem. Then I restored the factory settings and now all seems to be working fine. What ever configuration I had seemed to be causing the problem but its working as it should now. I'm starting to come to terms with the video viewer software. The manual is useless in terms of explaining when you are remotly using the DVR HDD or your PC HDD, and its hard to know which settings are controling the DVR or the PC. Thanks for all the feedback. If there is any info out there that explains which controls in the Video Viewer Software apply to the DVR and which apply to the PC I'd appreciate a link.
  7. Answers to the questions above: The DVR is less than a week old and I'm using the 500gb Hard Drive that came with it. Its an 8CH DVR and I am using 5 cameras. I have entended the pre and post motion recording to its max to try and make up the 8mb. I will reset everything now (if I can do it remotely) and see if that changes anything. BTW - All of my config and playback is done through the Client (AP) or using IE over the net.... I assume this should not make a difference.
  8. I've just bought the AVC 796 DVR and am having problems reviewing any saved event footage. I have it set up to record only motion detection events but when I go to review footage I get some of the footage then the playback either freezes or goes black. The DVR then restarts itself. This happens when I use the search functionalty based on a date/time. The only way I can review footage in its entirity is through the log. I've read in the manual that footage must be 8mb to play successfully, could that be it, and how do I ensure that each recording is above 8mb? Thanks in advance for any help.
