Dear andy this is a welcome site FACTORY SUPPORT. I only have a couple of geovision systems both gv800 16 channel systems both running version 6.?? software. I wish we could get more of this type of support for our members and users.

As I see it this is no diffetrance than posting your company installer codes or ADT, BRINKS, or any other company information. Please for the best of your customers as well as others in this forum please do not post things that deal with the security of systems or peoples saftey in the open. Yes I am still here where do you live? are you a dealer? Are you licenesed in your state to do cctv? why do you need control?

Yes you can use the original but the edited version would most likely not be allowed unless it was edited by the FBI or some big department that can document what was done and it was just cleaned not edited. Just think about if you were going to court would you want your blood alcohol test EDITED.

If the photo is edited you might run the risk of a judge dismissing the case.

The only thing I can add to what has been stated is. 1.What is the state law? (Do signs have to be posted, Does the system have to be installed by a licenesed Company Installer, also our state has area's of privancy bath rooms, dressing rooms, bedrooms, ect. As long as you are not trying to get a shoplifter stealing in the dressing room you should be ok. Or a wife with boyfriend in the bedroom you should be ok. Other wise you might be charged invasion of privacy for installing the equipment.

There are a few dealers in your area. Not sure about distributors. The ones I know only sell to security companies.

I have seen some that do and some that do. How much DC voltage do you see across the RS485 + and - should be around 5 volts dc. Is this a new camera bought from supplier, or a used camera from e-bay or other seller. If you you are doing this as a job you might think about buying a RAPPORT 337 test tool it sends and reads ptz commands as well as sees video in and has a color bar signal generator built in also. The only down side is its over 500.00's.

Would that be a USB to RS232 converter? Not all things in computers are equall PTZ RUNS ON RS485 not RS232 most things want a true RS232 port with a 232 to 485 converter. Then you have camera address, baud rate, protacal type end of line resister for your camera and the + and - wires make a big differance.

If these are 12 volt dc cams I am seeing a 60 cycle hum or a ground loop problem. What type cameras are they how are they connected to the dvr coax cat 5 has tere been any lightning at the site did you ground the site.

1.What brand Camera? 2.What brand lenese? 3.Have you adjusted the backfocus? 4.What does the lense calculator say you need?

You will not get many takers on this. 1. A good IR cam with your range cost more than your spec each most IR cams you have to buy twice the distance to get what you want, then your cheap IR's do not use good IR led's and the pattern does not look right. 2. A good stand alone is priced over your budget you can get cheap ones no tech support good luck finding someone to replace it under warrenty. You get what you pay for. Most people want a $700.00 system to protect a $250,000.00 investment. Home or car insurance cost more than that.

You are asking for a very bad thing. 1. Motion to a camera is a change in pixels, which includes LIGHT 2. Does you state or city have a faulse alarm ordanence, this could cost you a lot of cash. 3.Your state if I am not wrong requires you to be a licensed alarm tech to work on alarms, This could cost you even more money. Please check all laws in your states to keep yourself out of any trouble. I know in this day and time people try to save as much money as possible but please check around for laws in your area and check around with alarm companies in your area for the best deal for you.

Sorry I knew they were building their own but I have not seen or used their standalone. Their PC models are good. Sorry I had a long day and missed that it was the standalone.

That is one of the company names same card and sofrware interface as EYEMAX, ISIS and several others. What version is the card and what version is the software. The card you are looking at is a 4 channel 30 frame per second total card that is stackable to 4 max to make a 16 channel 120 fps dvr total. Where are you getting the card and will the seller give you any tech support.

It for the most part someone trying to challenge the new dvr's. With state license, FBI background checks, and factory training it was not a big ordeal. You just tell them what the prossess of saving the data and how it is secured and then there is nothing to fuss over.

That the saved images and video are the untampered with same images as on the dvr. Original as if it were a vhs tape from a timelapse recorder or 35mm photo camera. And that I am the one that removed said images from the dvr and saved them to cd for court.

PG I have a few customers with 4 rg-6 to 1 mm fiber system you will need to check video levels at the camera with a meter (CM-2) at the point it goes to fiber and when the fiber rec is when it comes off the fiber. Now a little old school color bar generator set to 1 volt peak to peak at the camera end and make the same tests. After all is said and do you might just have a bad fiber trans or rec. Does a good channel say ch 1 look like this when you move the ch that is good to the ch that is bad.

It depends on what state you live in and when the judge ask what class, certifications and who your insurance carrier is when you go to court because of something that the recorder did or did not record. The system you sell and install you are the the responsible party for its operation. Is it recording was it installed correctly all of the things you are trained in classes and states that require license to install cctv. As an installer builder of DVR's I have been to court 4 times in 3 years just to testify that the image on the cd was taken from the dvr by me given to the police and was not tampered with in any fashion.

Mr. Gold007eye In the real world 1TB hard drive is 1/3rd your budget. A good quality capture card with your specs is over your budget. Now if you can get a free computer and quality monitor for free that will will work with a quality capture card you might be in luck. Please read some other post and tag lines YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. The price that you are looking to spend is more suited to seeing who is at the door of a home or what the children are doing in the yard. This is not a security system for a 24/7 store. I go into places all the time that wants a system like you that want to ID the robber or pickout counterfit money and that is just not going to happen. All of us here in the fourm have customers that know what they want in a system call in a pro to design a system that will suit their needs for years to come.

How old is it ? Is it clean all vents and fans ? What is the error code ? Did you buy it from a dealer or build it yourself ? Have you called your dealer ? More info needed.

If you are not a network IT person or have one on staff tell the customer you are sorry and can not bid. Enroll in CCTV classes Enroll in COMPUTER NETWORKING and understand the bids you are ask to bid on. I see a customer that has setup bid specs and if the specs are not meet you will most likley will meet the inhouse lawyer and his buddy the county judge and not get payed for your job or your parts and the risk of having to pay for things to be fixed per bid specs. I almost forgot you do have 1 MILLION lieability Insurance for your company all state liecense if required by your state and certified training hours in cctv correct.
