Mixing systems or differant card versions is a no no. Sorry but you can not use differant brand cards in the same system. Also a DVR is just that a DVR no other uses as they use the system pretty heavy. Buddy

crirvine replied to nikolai's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
Who did you buy your system from and what version software came on it. Buddy -
Hey I have 2 ADT DVR's that I have traded for (needed boat ancors) they are made by GE , Bosch , Panasonic. As some would say YOU GET WHAY YOU PAY FOR and that is what I would call LOW END I am sorry but you are not going to find anything you want in that price range as stated before that price might get you a cam that you are looking for but nothing else. Sorry Buddy

multiple PC DVR maintenance issues
crirvine replied to B digital's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
Rory I have also found out that the DVR's I use Magic Radar based turn off windows update there are a few updates that load the system and draw the resources down until it crashes. The systems we use are supplier built and all ports are closed accept the remote ports. We have had no problems in any of the DVR's by using this method. I know some like to save money and build their own but you only have problems unless you do all the home work get all the stuff turned off and blocked. Buddy -

You said magic radar what version software. You stated on a dell all of our magic radar systems are custom built for me I never build my own and have no problems 80 in the field running strong. Buddy -
Lucky I have one more bit of advise depending on where you are depends on what you can do. The state I live and work in Tennessee you have to have a state license to install even if you own your busness you can put one in at your home but that is all. Our state likes big fines for this type of thing and a company will turn people in for the spite. We have overhead class and regulations from the state to do our work that is why we are so protective our our busness. Buddy

Need Recommendation for DVR System w reliable Help Desk
crirvine replied to won't do dishes's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
1. What are you looking for (type of equipment) ? 2. Where are you located ? I ask this because my dealer provides good phone support and has a hands on training class at their location. The price is not cheap but the product is well built and you get good support. Buddy -
I have not had to do this but ati makes a video card that has dual out put the other option is to use a multiplexer with loop out to feed the call monitor. Charles

MagicRadar Remote View
crirvine replied to zhiyi_ze's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
You have to go into IE and make your site a trusted site. Connect To DVR With Internet Explorer, Login (On Windows XP w/SP2, DVR's IP must be a Trusted Site) In IE tools tab, internet options, security, trusted sites and do not forget to uncheck the https box also. If coming in from the internet you must open these ports in the router also. On all versions prior to 3.5.2.2 the default ports are 80 for I.E and 9091 for client. Version 3.5.2.2 requires additional ports to be opened. Internet Explorer requires TCP ports 80 & 9093-9112 to be opened through firewall. Remote Client requires TCP ports 9091-9112 to be opened through firewall This should be for all versions after 3.4.1.0 and that should get you up and running. I do remember a problem with 3.5.2.0 you should upgrade to the newest version our vendor is up to 4.2.0.0 Charles R Irvine -
You can change the video card to a dual output and run one to the monitor of the dvr and convert the other output to make a type of call monitor. Charles R Irvine

Why not just install the camera the way it was designed and choose the proper lenese. I do not think I have seen anything that does what you are asking about. Charles R Irvine -
split ohne video signal on two monitor
crirvine replied to vda's topic in General Digital Discussion
Sorry to say you are wrong but 28 years in electronics a good HP Spectrum analizer and HP Communication Service Monitor and years in electronics schools prove the loss I speak of also I have tested this from 1 Mz to 5.8 Gz. Most video problems stem from poorly installed connectors or cheap coax and poor installation habits unisolated splits are common for ground loops ect. Charles R Irvine -
As Rory stated just use the remote software that is designed for the DVR the programs you are trying to use do not support multiple moving pictures your video is your problem. I have played with PCANYWHERE 11.0 on a true 100 meg network just a dvr and remote only and used almost 100% of the bandwidth and that was a LAN so you do the math on the internet that is about 70 T1 lines. split ohne video signal on two monitor
crirvine replied to vda's topic in General Digital Discussion
Just remember if you use one of those you loose 3DB of signal and if you are not keen on electronics 3DB cuts your signal in HALF. You might not can afford that much loss in your loop. Also while I am teaching class a barrel connector BNC FEMALE to make your cable longer also adds 1/2 to 1 DB of signal loss to your loop or loose 1/3rd of your signal. Charles R Irvine -
I have a customer that bought this unit from another dealer and now can not get support from them the dealer kept the OS and DVR software. They like the interace that they had and the 8 PTZ cams on the system. My problem I have the OS Key on the system but I have no DVR software for the system. I did a search of the web and find no listing for this DVR. Thanks if you can help me out. Buddy
