Best indoor camera for small convenience store under 100$?
crirvine replied to melisandeneowald's topic in Security Cameras
For one you do not want much you will not get much for that money also 8 to 35 feet will push one camera for a sharp picture from a cheap camera if that is your beer isle you need multiple close views if you want to catch shoplifters and get the judge to convict on cctv footage. Spending 100 dollars is like using a cheap lock on your door. -
Well you do not want much a name brand card new release software for ebay price. EBAY sells clones and geo controls price and where you sell you might have a small problem.

DVR card driver needed
crirvine replied to matthews's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
Where did you buy this card. All true non clone dvr cards come with software. Also most all dvr cards will only work with the software that was written for that brand card. Call the seller you bought the card from. -
choose 16CH DVR CARD Under U$D 200 at Ebay
crirvine replied to andresz30's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
GEO dealers are not allowed to sell on ebay sorry -
That is fine for you but as a eyemax dealer I can not offer maybe might slight I can only offer the same support as the factory. If you take you chevy car modify it and put in ford parts you are on your own. That risk I will not take but you can make all the moves you want but you will not get tech support. I build our EYEMAX DVR's and provide tech support to my customers which most of the time consists of cleaning and helping customers save and burn video I have very few hardware issuses due to following set hardware rules and not changing from my ways.

You need to deside if you want a stand alone or pc based dvr. As for cameras I think you waould like these (JVC 540 TVL Color Camera, TK-920U) and either auto iris 2.8 to 8 or auto iris 5 to 50 lense pelco weather proff enclosures and a 16 channel 24 volt ac power supply that way you can expand or have plenty of reserve power simeese rg 6 with 18 for power. That should get you started.

activex does not play well doing emulation. Why don't you put a chevy motor in your ford car. The same reason it was not designed to work that way. Use things the way the designers built them. Emulation anything is not 100% and you are talking security. Would you bet your life on sometime and maybe 50% of the time. Would you fly in a plane with a emulation pilot that crashed 50% of the time?

Is this for your house or are you going into the security industry? If you are going into the security industry you might need a state license most states require those now for security and cctv installers.
-
Look and see if the camera has BLC (Back Light Compensation) and see what that does
-
I am sorry but that is like asking me where I have the spare key to my house.

Mike I am a eyemax dealer and build our systems I have had customers try to make a mac work with no luck It has to have activex to work with IE so using a mac is out of the question now they have used a new mac with dual boot mac and windows and it worked only in the windows side with the vista client. You could change to a dvr that works with a mac or buy a new mac dual boot.

hi,Looking for software DVR card
crirvine replied to Nitrox's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
The sad news for you call the person you got the card from as each card will work with software for that card only. I hope you did not buy a clone from ebay/ -
In person is the best for new or first time people to get to see and setup or trouble shoot in person.
-
I would say if you are that green you need in person. That way you can learn and see.
-
Lumpy I still build those on those motherboards today. The cards I use are chipset dependent from the factory reps I have talked to. My question is why change what works stable in what it is built for. These are very stable dvrs when built proper no crashes works all the time and gives the customer no problems that leads to happy customers.
-
If you bought it from ebay and no software then it is most likey not a real kodicom kmc 4400r card it will a clone for 10.00 good luck getting the real kodicom software and if you do goodluck getting it to work. I hope you leave bad feed back on the seller.

Best Capture Card
crirvine replied to VikingSooner's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
Sounds like you are using cheap cameras and of dvr card stay away from junk clones and no name brand equipment. Now with that said how have you hooked these up coax, twisted pair adapters please list more about your system so you can get better answers to your problem. -
Suky if you are going to sell to dealers and customers for the same price then all the dealers will trash you. We do not like those stores or support those stores. We go to school open stores become state licensed install equipment by those laws and deal with the low life that sells out of the back or there car that is not state licensed. People get stuck by scavengers and it gives all in the industry a bad name. I have read your post I am not impressed you only try to sell every post you make read my post you notice I only offer advise not sales here. I only sell to people that I can install the product and give service to that customer. I have been in the security industry for over 20 years sorry if you do not agree with me.

francisconet PLEASE READ THE RULES. THIS IS NOT EBAY MSRP PRICE ONLY NO WHOLESALE. http://www.cctvforum.com/advertise.php -
I ran into the same problem and after talking to pelco I was told that the software installed was installed with no cd burner and would have to send the dvr to pelco buy the software and pay them to install it. The price I was given by pelco was higher than a new PC DVR so we replaced the DVR.

How does remote software reconize my dvr card
crirvine replied to robkey's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
This post will answer your questions. http://www.cctvforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=3287 -
Soundy looks like another poster can not read the rules. Also if you want 30 fps I hope you have the money for a T1 because 30 fps at 1 camera runs 256k to 512k or better depending on video quality and traffic. Also if they want to advertise buy adds from the admins and support the site.

crirvine replied to Sandals's topic in General Digital Discussion
WHAT HAPPENED TO READING THE RULES FOLKS IF YOU WANT TO ADVERTISE BUY ADDS. Now soundy you are right about cost and one more fact COSTCO does not use the DVR's they sell they hire pro's and pro equipment for their stores.
