The company you bought the dvr card from should have given you the software when you bought the card from them. Notify you distributator. -
Eyemax DVR 9000 Series System keeps giving HD Fault
crirvine replied to sightbeyondsight's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
You have a failing hard drive replace the hard drive and never use the boot drive for dvr video. If you are not sure how to do this or do not have the software and skill to setup a drv call your installer. -
Need help with a card.
crirvine replied to nomi421's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
Goodluck as I am a eyemax dealer and your budget price is less than my cost for a eyemax 9240 card with version 5.1.4.0 software I will say make sure you are buying a true eyemax card and not a clone. I only know of 1 US wholeseller for eyemax cards. -
You are in the ball bark on the ports. You have to do port fowarding in your router to the ip of the dvr. What version 9240 do you have?

Need help with a card.
crirvine replied to nomi421's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
Eyemax cards are not VISTA friendly yet. Plus a 9240 card will cost him more than his budget. RETAIL PRICE. NOW BACK ON MY SOAP BOX. YOU SHOULD SPEND 10% OF WHAT YOUR BUSNESS IS WORTH TO PROTECT IT. This comes from trade shows not just a figure I come up with. -
Software that runs in the background?
crirvine replied to dynamixx's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
Software is specific to the capture card you cannot mix or match. Also DVR's are just that a DVR. Why risk a virus or trojan on your DVR by using it for other reasons. -
As a do it yourselfer you might want to check with state laws in your state. Most states are now requiring licenesse to install cctv security and fire systems in a busness sorry but you might not be able to install the equipment in your busness also are you willing to take the risk that if the equipment was installed illeagley and not useable in court or you violate someones rights not knowing the laws dealing with recording audio and video are you insured to be covered if sued. Theys are the things the dealers must meet the requirments for to get their licenese plus we are trained in the installation and give you a a service when things go wrong.

How to video a tennis tournament?
crirvine replied to callisto's topic in General Digital Discussion
Is this your event or you buying a ticket and just a person in the stands? If this is not your event you are most likely breaking the law. And if this is your event then the wireless equipment and towers for line of site equipment would be very high in cost. -
Certification Required to Install Video Cameras?
crirvine replied to DinoSteel's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
State laws for alarm contractors are good things and working under the radar in the state of Tennessee will get you a $5000.00 fine for your effort. I have turned people in for not having the proper papers. We go to classes, we need to know the state laws as it deals with cctv, we have to have insurance to cover our work. So there are proper ways to get in the cctv busness I would ask you do things proper or just try to work in Arkansas not only will they fine you, they will take your car and lock you up in jail. -
More Help choosing DVR Card & Software
crirvine replied to eugeneg's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
Most all cards and software not all but most that has been on the market more than 6 months does not work with vista. If this is older card and software you must use xp. Vista is a very differant system and software and hardware are not supported. Microsoft office 2000 does not work well with vista and is not supported for tech support. -
Kodicom KMC4400R from 4 channel to 8 channel using 2 card.
crirvine replied to nadimsia's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
The distributor you bought the card from should send you an installer manual with the cards you buy. Your best option is to call your distributor that you got the cards from. -
my cameras are turning on and off
crirvine replied to carlosmarin's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
Please post more information about your system so people will stop jumping to conclusions as to what you have installed. 1.What type dvr do you have? 2.Was this perbuilt or did you build it? 3.Where did you get this dvr? 4.What brand and type cameras do you have? 5.What type power supply do you have AC or DC? 6.What type of wire is used to transmit video rg59 rg6 cat5? Please answer all questions so we have a better idea we are not at your house and can not see the installation all dvr's are not the same as are the cameras. -

crirvine replied to newbie78's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
Before we jump to conclusions lets get more info on your new computer that dell replaced also I will get into much support for ebay cards as that is covered in the rules. 1.What motherboard chipset and prosser is in the new computer? 2.What operating system is on the new computer? 3.I have not seen any problems with pci agp pci express or motherboard video as long as all other supported hardware is used. You can find same freeware programs on the net that will tell you all about your computer just do a search and find one. After you gain all this information post it and you can get better answers from our members. -
Looking to install CCTV in my car...
crirvine replied to DietSpam's topic in General Digital Discussion
I do not support ebay cards as most of them are clones. We dealers pay several times more than the ebay prices you see for true cards and software. -
What brand capture card did you use? What is the name on the software? How many channels is the capture card? Did it come with installer directions? Did you contact the dealer you bought the card from or is it a ebay item?
-
You need to do your home work first. 1. What brand capture system. (GEO, EYEMAX, ECT.) 2. What are the specs need for this model? Motherboard, cpu, ram, harddrive size, ect. 3. Then order all parts read all books and pdf's that come with the system and then build the system. 4. Then tweak the system it will not work like you want it to right out of the box.

Can I use a camcorder into a DVR for surveillance?
crirvine replied to Jersey Joe's topic in General Digital Discussion
The only problem you will have is the camera will turn off after 5 mins unless it has a tape in it and a tape only last 1 hour. -
Audio pick up from cam - pico2000 software
crirvine replied to jono400's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
I do not use that brand as most in this group. Contact the person you bought the card from and get the manuals for this unit. -
Not sure way for a home you want 30 fps on what you call a budget card? Do you own a budget home? Do you own a budget car? Do you buy budget TV's Home Entertainment Systems? Do you buy budget jewelery for your wife? If the answer to any of the above questions is no then why buy budget dvr geovision cards are not budget they are good cards. I still do not understand why people want to only spend $700.00 to protect $250,000.00 or more? You pay more than that for insurance.
-
What size power supply are you using. I had some factory maxtor drives fail but I have not had any seagate drivse fail and I have been using them over 3 years.
-
Are your coax lines near a high current night light? This sounds like a inducted AC hum from a night light also check your power source that you are not sharring your power with a night light controlled by a photo cell.

Did you buy this DVR or did you build it yourself. If you bought it call the company that you bought it from. YOUR ISP MIGHT ALSO BLOCK PORT 80 ON THE INTERNET AS THEIR NO SERVERS POLICY. 1. You need a router to do portfowarding a hub will work local but not from the internet. 2. Building a network is not as easy as going to walmart buying a linksys router and hooking up a home pc to surf the internet. With all the information that has been posted in this thread and you still have problems I think you might need to go to the book store and buy books on networking and routing or hire a pro to setup your system.

Police Station interrogation room system design + 5 cameras
crirvine replied to northeastremote's topic in System Design
How much insurance do you have for your company on products you build ? I would make the remark that you need to sell them pre-built equipment designed for this type recording as you will be 100% lyable for this system to work.
