Cable may play important role in video quality but in your case IR lights are the spoilsport. Try video quality in day time, if it's better then IR lights are the culprit N you have no choice other than replacing the camera.

RJ45 crimped cables better for stable connectivity. also run independent cables for better power/current transmission. Any wire will do(copper/Aluminum) the second option (balun+power jack) will end up in loose connections. Choice is yours now:-)

how to acces dvr's with smartphone, apps? ports?
shankarsha replied to lampy's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
you can use mobile2device.jar on any symbian/java based phone to access hikvision dvr. -
you can try DAHUA dvr for instance. You have a budget limitation so you have to forget D1 resolution which is is really a heck to achieve cos you may need a chain of devices to get it. So take some D1 cameras of your choice and a 16 ch dahua dvr LE-T series. You can record at D1 resolution but at 6 FPS. I hope the quality won't disappoint you. More quality video = more recording space. Rules don't change. Atleast in this case. So put 2TB HDD. (That's the max for this dvr)

why modem router cannot be setup for internet view?
shankarsha replied to tommy858's topic in Computers/Networking
your priority is the router connected to the dvr. It is the gateway of dvr. There is NAT for translating the ip addresses in all routers. Google on these subjects for more information. -
This happens when you use windows vista or 7 os. The cause is you are trying to write a file in C drive that requires administrator permission. So run IE as administrator and backup video clip.

QQeye is outdated now. You may try Asee for better results.

Remote Access to Mobile DVR and DDNS
shankarsha replied to need2shave's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Hi, you may use DYNDNS.org for dynamic ip connection. you must set local ip and port no. above 8000 for dvr and forward the port in modem and open the firewall for accepting WAN side request for port and local IP. Also put dyndns login and host details in DDNS settings of broadband modem for dynamic ip update. For details on port forwarding visit portforward.com Hope it helps. -
