  1. I'm in the process of installing a system in my house and wanted to know if this was what I should expect for clarity. Any help or comments would be appreciated. For some reason I can't seem to get the image to load. Ok there we go.

focal range of the panasonic cw484

Well the cameras I installed indoors aren't clear enough and the place I bought them from agree, so they are sending me a couple of cameras to try and one of them is the Panasonic CW484. At this point I'm in so deep the money isn't really that big of a factor but I do agree it seems like overkill. If the picture looks good I'll be happy
  3. What is the focal range of the panasonic cw484? I keep seeing 2x but I'm not sure what that means.

I appreciate the help. I can't wait until the UPS man gets here on Monday to deliver it. Does anyone know how well lit it has to be as far as using it indoors and still being able to get a good picture.
  5. Fortunately I purchased everything from an authorized dealer, I got lucky and read that on their website before I bought everything. I plan on calling Nuvico today. I actually have 8 cameras hooked up, 6 are the same as the one posted and the other 2 are a fixed lens. I purchased an Orion 7m to access the menu and do the adjustments but I didn't focus anything in real low light or with the IRs on yet. The only TV I have that isn't an LCD is a 27" crt. When I get home today I think I'll hook it up and see what it looks like on there. I noticed when the IRs are on the picture looks better so I'm hopeing I can make some changes in the menu settings and get the picture better. I will say that the picture looks a little better when I'm viewing it off the screen than it does in the picture. Not much, but a little better. Thanks for all of your help and input.
  6. Good information but since I'm new to this I'm trying to figure out what I should do to improve it. The DVR is the Nuvico AL805, I'm not sure if it's the camera or the dvr that would be the problem. Can you recommend a camera in the $200-$300 range that would work better? Like I said earlier, any help or comments is greatly appreicated. Thanks
  7. Actually I can't tilt it up any more that's why I said I may have to move it later. This camera is set to see the doors and what the maids are cleaning / or not cleaning when they are there. Finding the right location for the cameras was quite a bit more difficult than I had anticipated.
  8. Sorry, I should have thought about that. The camera is 13' high with a 3.8mm lens, 1/3" ccd. It's actually the Nuvico CV-STD39N-L. It's a veri-focal but it's set at the widest angle, I should have mounted it in a different spot but I guess I can change that later if need be.
  9. I'm looking at using 5 cameras indoors with a 2.9mm fixed lens. Two of the cameras will be facing each other about 30 feet apart, one will be in the corner of a room with a max distance of 20ft, one will be in the corner of a room that is about 14x14, and another will be in my garage. The camera I'm consering is the Nuvico CV-HD2N-L, any feedback would be appreciated.

    Nuvico cameras

Sorry, should have thought about that. 3 outside and 5 inside. It's in Texas so I'd like to have the cameras outside be able to operate anywhere from 15 degrees up to 105.

    Nuvico cameras

I'm putting together a home surveillance system and have pretty much decided on these cameras (unless I get better advice here). Can someone give me feedback on the quality and what to expect from this choice? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Outside: Nuvico CV-SD21N-L Inside: Nuvico CV-HD2N-L

    Nuvico cameras

I don't want to spend more than $1200 on the cameras.

    Nuvico AL-810

Has anyone used this dvr, or any Nuvico for that matter. I'm looking for a good dvr that is reasonably priced. Any help would be greatly appreciated. The dvr is going to be for home use.
