    if im not wrong u want to make ur pc as DVR . You have to install DVR software thats it...go for replay ..search on google for replay , u can buy online. u can record and watch online . Its better to make one small raid server, u can take help of any computer guy. it can accomodate more, upto 1 month or more. It all depends on ur need

    Axis 207W Wireless Network Camera, they are latest and good ones. U will face less problems if u really gng for wireless, other wise use cat6 IP cameras, they r more reliable. If u just wanna scare people use wireless, if u really wanna monitor use wired ones. The AXIS 207W comes with both wireless IEEE802.11g and Ethernet network interface for flexible installation. It supports the WPA-PSK and it supports MPEG-4 too.

    brother when u will connect the camera to switch, switch will not be configured at that time, so u can plug one wire( cat 6 for best results) from ur pc or laptop to the switch. Then u have to assign your pc a static IP address that will be in the same network as ur camera. for example: if the camera IP is 192.168.0.20 then set up you laptop on IP 192.168.0.9 or something. Then open internet explorer and type the camera Ip , u will be able to see the camera.
