raycctv posted a topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
hi is the CONEXANT CX25853 8ch dvr pcie card any good does anyone have one installed using etc thanks -
hi all would like to know if there is any other software that is compatible with this card. dont get me wrong i have a rock solid cctv home build but i really want option to capture stills image say every couple of secong as when im using motion control and recording for 17 sec/cam its eating up drive space. i used to have this option with and easy cap 4 ch usb cctv dongle but cant see this feature on the wapa-p bl1408 or am i setting it up wrong also used to be able to rotate scene and captured image (like someone walking and 4 frames taken sucessively from cam 1-4. any help here apreciated oh lastly regarding ptz in the region of £200.00 what are night images like as ones ive seen on ebay dont have ir in them..? so my guess you would have to used ir lamps (messy) thanks.. PPS i also heard somewhere taht there is excellent linux cctv software that may work with a wapa-p card anyone else heard that also...

Hi all just registered today nice to see lots of people been using this site look forward to chats, info and most importantly HELP!!!!! oh just a quick note ive just bought a 8ch dvr pci card but in the listing it said not compatible with via chipsets. i have and old sempron pc with a via chipset and was wondering will this setup work. i have see other post elsewhere saying its hit and miss on the dvr cards and via, my motherboard is a soltek sl-75imvr2 and will be using an ati 9200se graphic card with sempron 1.6ghz cpu. im in IT and this should be plenty for a little dvr card running 4ch and windows xp. thanks for replys

hi if your going over short distance and you terminate well then use whatever braid you like (in the real world) there no difference over say 15-50m its when you going over long distances you will start to see issues. also would point out if your installing cable at location with lots of hf/rf signals go for the R59 and terminate well, but for standard home installations alloy braid is fine as ive used both in many installs home and business hope oh if yoru an uber videophile make sure you have a good earth the amount of jobs ive done with crappy earth impeadance nosie coming from that source tear my hair out..

update: hi well the redish glow of the ir leds isnt that bright infact can barely see them. also would like to know what these dual ccd cam lenses in a single housing are like does anyone have images or footage taken. 8ch card still not here @ 704 x 288 recording is this any good. oh i paid £142 for x3 540tvl not sure what the rating is in black and white but from crappy easy cap usb i have recoding on the 1ch only @ 640 x 480 looks good, your thoughts appreciated -
hi yep dual ccd do you know where i could veiw images of different cctv cams just purchased some 540tvl single lens ones good but im using an eay cap usb to grab images. Just ordered an 704 x 288 techwell card so hoping im going to get better image the 640 x 420 as it a dedicated cctv card. also can only record on x1 ch with the easy cap. should be here shortly for me to play with. But i want to say a face @ 30-40 meters. the setup i have at present can do 20-25m ish, so was wondering should i get a dual ccd lens cam. I thought you would get a wide view ? better depth but not better resolution with addtional lens inside the cam. sorry for being noob this is my first foray into cctv thanks for help

hmm you got me thinking now but what about nvidia chipsets, surely all chipset can be bad. also guys i gomy 540tvl cams today image is well better than bullet cam i had but they are big is there a way i can conceal them and also there is a red glow to the IR dim but noticeable, think 840nm bight as anything though. see i have beem having problems with young lads throwing stones at windows so want to catch them at it think my 540tvl and 704x288 dvr card will do it. Bullets are great in day but suck bad at night, but my 540tvl can be seen they aing small like the bullets nor mid size like the 10-12 leds 429tvl cams you see. help apprecaited -
